Jimmy D'Anda

Post by kingbrian74 »

Saw Lynch Mob over the weekend, and this guy is a monster drummer.

I always dug his playing with BulletBoys back in the day, and I had never seen him perform live. I don't like Lynch Mob or Dokken.....so I basically just went to see Jimmy play.

It's a shame he never ended up in a really big band. Spoke to him briefly after the show, as I was at the show with a friend of his, and really nice guy.

Also, George Lynch is a poor man's Vinnie Vincent!!

great drummer.

was excited for the BulletBoys reunion a coupla years ago, bummer it didn't work out. he was pretty active on Facebook Live back then. he played a few snippets of some solo stuff he had been working on. sounded promising.

George Lynch is definitely richer than Vinnie Vincent.

Jimmy is one of the best drummers of the era. Love "The Brotherhood" album he did with LM.

Saw him 10 years ago with Lynch Mob. Awesome drummer and nice guy chatting for a few quick minutes after the show.

I've always thought Jimmy D'Anda was a great drummer. Him and Michael Foster are my two go-to under the radar hair metal drummers.

What really sold me was this, which everyone here should give a watch. Jani Lane 2009 with Kevin Baldes on bass, Jimmy D'Anda on drums, Brent Woods on guitar, Patrick Kennison on guitar, and Shawn Zavodney on keyboards.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVNiG5H-IrI

That is a TIGHT as fuck band.

The whole show is on YouTube and worth a watch for anyone who hasn't seen it. The period where Jani seemed to get his act together, looked and sounded great shortly before his death is so bittersweet.

While George has dropped down between 10th or 15th with me, from 1986-1992 he was third only behind Eddie and Randy.

I recently watched the Jason Green interview with Jimmy and He seems like a super cool dude with some good stories. I believe I saw the Lynch Mob open up for Firehouse a few years back, Jimmy was on absolute fire. Hard-hitting drummer.

I always liked his approach on those Bulletboys albums. Has a cool style. I saw a video a few months ago from a Bonzo/Zepp tribute show and was impressed.
