Is L.A. Guns the only 80's hard rock/metal band still putting out new albums on the reg?
Are they the only ones still doing the 2-year album cycle, like the old days? Tracii and Phil reunited and we got albums in 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, and one coming up in April '25.
"Yeah, and they all suck!" Okay. I don't know what to tell you. I always like them! I thought The Devil You Know was especially cool.
Looks like the Quireboys is still cranking them out.
Trying to think of others... HELP.

Stryper's last 5 albums came out at 2 year intervals...next one should drop (from the heavens, of course) in 2026.

Yeah, that was probably my next mention. Sweet and Tracii seem to be making the most out of that Frontiers money.Psychobolia.com wrote: ↑Wed Mar 05, 2025 7:35 am Stryper's last 5 albums came out at 2 year intervals...next one should drop (from the heavens, of course) in 2026.
Whitesnake was there until Coverdale's voice gave out. Everyone else seems to be on the one every 5-10 years plan.
On the heavier side of things, Overkill is still releasing albums regularly.

That's what Winger seems to be doing with IV in 2006, Karma in 2009, Better Days Comin in 2014, and Seven in 2023.Anthrax442 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 05, 2025 10:26 am Everyone else seems to be on the one every 5-10 years plan.
Every two years seems a bit like overkill for a band well past their peak. Maybe they could do what some country artists do now and release a good single every now and then instead of a full-length album that a few people on the Gossip Board will care about.

Obviously Covid put a hiccup in the release cycles, just putting that out there
Megascab was fairly 'reg' until 2016 ... 2-3 year-ish
I've given their latest a spin a few times but I wind up skipping through songs, especially the one about going to Mars, it's stoopid.
The World Needs a Hero (2001)
The System Has Failed (2004)
United Abominations (2007)
Endgame (2009)
Thirteen (2011)
Super Collider (2013)
Dystopia (2016)
The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead! (2022)
Uriah Heep is a 70's band who has put out some surprisingly good albums in the recent on a 3-4 year-ish cycle
Wake the Sleeper (2008)
Into the Wild (2011)
Outsider (2014)
Living the Dream (2018)
Chaos & Colour (2023)
I think I'll go back and give these a spin now to see how they held up

Its not the longest track record, but KKs Priest with albums in 21 and 23... lets' see if there's one in 25.

Might depend on if they have more than a one album deal with Napalm. Both albums were on different labels.HueyRamone wrote: ↑Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:03 am Its not the longest track record, but KKs Priest with albums in 21 and 23... lets' see if there's one in 25.

Ripper and KK both need cash, 25 or 26 seems like a sure thing

After Electric Boys reunited, they've put out records about every three years.

Winger put out, " Seven" not too long ago. They still deliver live. They all have side gigs, but they all still dig each other as far as I know, and since they can at least make some money on the club circuit, I don't see why they wont't eventually put out at least 1 more album together, if not more. Tom Keifer is back in the game and has put out 2 independent records.

Enuff Znuff aka Chip have put out a ton of records and demo albums with no involvement from Donnie as far as I know.
However…. As much as I love their first few albums, I don’t think any of these are worth listening to twice.
