No complaints about the voice. I know it's one song, but if he sounds like that, that's worth traveling for.

Juan Croucier cringes at those moves.

I've been saying it for several years now, but I fully believe that Diamond Dave has Parkinson's and it has affected his voice and his hand movements. He often employs the hand in the pocket trick. Watch his right hand in this video.

Yeah, the wobbling right arm is VERY noticeable. I know people were thinking lung cancer when he said what he said about not being around after Eddie died, but maybe Parkinsons or some other nervous system/brain issue.

I think that's why he was using the headset microphone at first on the 2012 tour. That hand movement could've caused him to crack himself in the teeth with the microphone. When that microphone kept fucking up, he caved and went back to the handheld. That tour is when I also noticed how often he was putting his hand in his pocket. Michael J. Fox used to use that trick too.

Fox had said in the past that he can kind of control it, but if controls it, then he can't do other things at the same time. Having said that, I'm a little surprised Roth was able to do the Ice Cream Man solo spot on the 2014 tour, but I suppose if Tipton could still play some simple songs with Priest, then Ice Cream Man shouldn't be that big a deal.

I can't watch any Roth clips from the last several years. It's just so uncomfortable and cringey to see him now.

Maybe Parkinson's is what I can blame on all those whacky and ridiculous moves he's been doing for years now. It's his way of trying to hide it!

It's no secret he's had some health issues in recent years but he's very private so nothing will come out unless he wants it to. And since he's actually doing some shows this year, apparently he feels well enough to be out there.

Who wants to see some old guy in leather like that, outside of a gay club?

Frustrating thing is if he stopped all this stupid shit and quit trying to be the life of the party and just talked normally without the joker grin and constantly laughing at his own jokes (that are more like nonsequiturs) there’s a wealth of wisdom and showbiz history under it all. Sadly I don’t think we’ll ever gain access to it, he’s too busy being a fucking clown.
Spot on.

That sounds terrible. A reminder we age. I wouldn't see Dave now. Not because I don't like him, but because I'm good with what I saw of him in the 80s-90s.

Had a hard time watching that. Not because of the shaky hand. I sincerely say there comes a time to stop the schtick with anyone as they age. It's like thinking those "hilarious" BIG JOHNSON tee shirts that seemed funny 35 years ago are suitable attire today as I push 60. And that smile, if you want to call it that. When Dave was cool, I don't remember the cheese. Verbal cheese, sure. Lastly, it sounded like shit.

Yup. As often as I went to Myrtle Beach in the early 90s, I had too many "inappropriate" shirts. Loved those souvenir stores.

I'm a Rothtard but wouldn't want to see this. His music with John5 has been mostly very good. If he can sing that stuff live then maybe, but his days as a hard rock vocalist are long gone.

I actually think he probably needs the money.

The thing that blow me away when I watch this video is how Dave can watch it back and think it's a good idea to put it out there. He sounds horrible, looks horrible, and I don't know who the audience is for it. I don't think any rock star has ever changed so much from what they were in their prime as DLR has. He's not close to being remotely the same person and hasn't been since the 90s. He looks like he's trying to be classic DLR but has no idea who that person is or how to do it. He doesn't relate to 80s DLR anymore but still thinks he has to and this is what we get.

He's been doing crazy weird shit since the Mojo Dojo BBQ video. He's like a pro wrestler who is living the gimmick and doesn't know where the gimmick stops and the person begins. Like somebody said, if you could peel away all the bullshit, he's lived a fascinating life and has so many interesting things to say, but he's so crazy it'll never come out.

Why on earth any of you expect him to not dress and act exactly like he does amazes me. It's DLR. Are you all just mad you don't find him attractive anymore?

MSG 2008 got pro shot for home release but it never came out. Wolf probably looked at it and realised he was a fat spotty shit.
Fuck. Roth sounded great on every boot I have heard from that tour, and I had tix for MSG 2008 but couldn't go when it was postponed.
The pro shot should be in the deluxe three disc release of ADKOT :)

That too, but he has for example mentioned he needed the VH reunion income to be able to fund the tattoo skin care line Ink the Original that went belly up.

Vey hard to guess how the royalty etc income for having the VH song credits is.

Was just gonna post that. Plus, he's got some weirdly expensive hobbies like going to Japan to study martial arts and paying an artist to tattoo his entire body. These guys don't always have the kind of FU money that we'd like to believe.

Pointing to the Rick Springfield thread, DLR is nearly 6 years younger, looks 10 years older and dresses like Leather Man from the Village People. Add the wacky behavior, and he's a clown. Rick can still write and sing, looks good, and doesn't look foolish in his choice of clothes. There IS a way to do it without looking like a buffoon. I looked through a ton a pics of Dave through around the MTV fiasco. He never did that god damn stupid smile prior to that, then it became his "foot thing." I would imagine this is the face of someone in the electric chair.
