I mean you’re the same guy who told decibel geek guys that Pearcy solo albums sounds like they were recorded in your cinnamon ring! I played that clip for family over dinner!

I’m completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. These two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.

wow. I didn’t realize this was the album after native.
That’s crazy
It’s not. Crack A Smile was the album after Native Tongue. Smile was shelved by Capitol and they released a greatest hits cd with two songs off Smile instead. Capitol pressured the band to get back with CC. CC could’ve stayed in the band and they still wouldn’t have sold shit in the late 90s. If S7 and Hollyweird are any indication of where they were at creatively, nothing was going to save them.

I lost interest in the band with Hollyweird. The last good thing they did was Crack A Smile. NT and Smile are as good as anything they did with CC. I like the band from ‘86 to ‘96.

Psycho Circus was like Led Zeppelin IV compared to Hollyweird.

I remember downloading this and burning it onto a CD when it came out. I felt I was probably the only person in my town who actually had a copy.

After hearing Crack a Smile and Power to the People, this album was kind've surprising in what a step back it was. Almost like it was a Poison parody album. The dumb title should've been a tip off.

That being said, for an album I haven't listened to in over 20 years, I still remember a few of the songs vividly, especially the two Home ones. But I'm not sure what that means...

The production was shit... the whole thing sounds like it was written and recorded in a week. The "Home" tracks are probably the most interesting. "Wishful Thinkin" could have been better had more work gone into it.
It was clear that the C.C. sung tracks were the most tossed off of the bunch. Which is a shame, because those were arguably the more 'fun' tracks.

I'm pretty sure that if Poison made an album of original material with Don Was after the Poison'd covers record, we'd have a better last impression of Poison as an ongoing entity.
You can listen to my two albums here.... Sludge away, fuckers!
