Lot of bands would kill to have the songs that ACDC dont play live in their repertoire
It was a killer sold out show
Pretty Reckless was great but this type of audience wasnt really into them (newer rock in general)
Brian injured his foot early on & limped hard thru the rest of the show (took his shoe off & went with only sock) but killed it

Other than the Stiff Upper Lip tour they've played nothing but stadiums for about 30 years or so
Saw them in an arena with Black Ice. Headlining stadiums in the 90s? It happened but even on the Razors Edge tour they headlined a Monsters of Rock package with Metsllica, Queensryche and the Black Crowes.

They have done a load of stadiums recently.
Looking it up, it does seem that this is their first real stadium tour. Which actually surprised me initially.

I'm not familiar with their tour history, and would've expected there was at least one stadium tour in the mid 80s.

I guess it depends on how you define a stadium tour, but they absolutely did a run of stadiums last time around, when Rock or Bust came out. It was only like the first 15 shows though, and then it shifted to arenas.

22 August Foxborough United States Gillette Stadium — —
26 August East Rutherford MetLife Stadium 48,881 / 50,000 $4,492,251
28 August Quebec City Canada Plains of Abraham 48,588 / 58,000 $4,047,480
31 August Montreal Olympic Stadium 36,917 / 46,100 $3,238,650
3 September Ottawa TD Place Stadium — —
5 September Moncton Magnetic Hill Concert Site — —
8 September Detroit United States Ford Field — —
10 September Toronto Canada Downsview Park — —
15 September Chicago United States Wrigley Field 29,732 / 29,732 $3,024,480
17 September Winnipeg Canada Investors Group Field — —
20 September Edmonton Commonwealth Stadium — —
22 September Vancouver BC Place — —
25 September San Francisco United States AT&T Park 46,167 / 46,167 $4,446,189
28 September Los Angeles Dodger Stadium 46,215 / 46,215 $3,975,040

Yeah, I stopped short of really diving into it, I'd imagine they must've played some stadiums back in the day too (maybe?) but I couldn't find anything with a quick search. And there was a lot of things making a big deal about this being their "first stadium tour".

The only stadiums they played back in the day were festival type shows. They did the "World Series of Rock 79" with Bon at Cleveland Municipal Stadium.

They were always an arena level rock act through the 80s/90s/00s in the US aside from those shows listed above which I didn't know about.

Eddie Trunk did say lots of discount seats on this tour and others. People have caught on that you can wait these shows out and pay a fraction of what the days 1 buyers end up paying.

AC/DC have been a stadium act in Europe and South America for decades now, haven't they?

In North America, only recently with the Rock Or Bust Tour.

I've got to throw some water on this. I watched clips of If You Want Blood and Thunderstruck, and they sound pretty awful. Like, Motley Crue awful, where if you just don't care, it sounds fine, but if you've seen them before, it's a MASSIVE step down. And it's fucking weird seeing them without Cliff Williams and Chris Slade (much less Phil).

I had thought about going to the Soldier Field show last minute, but after watching those clips, I think I'm good.

Yea, I've never seen AC/DC live before and every time I think about this, I feel like I still won't be seeing AC/DC live. I'll be seeing Angus/Brian and 3 guys that nobody has a clue who they are backing them up.

I think I have better things to spend my money on.
