The song Orr the record? Both are excellent, although I like every song by The Cars & most everything that any of the members have done outside the group.
Currently, keyboardist Greg Hawkes appears with the Boston Band "Eddie Japan" from time to time, playing The Cars music. They are a great band & it's cool to see him play all those keyboard parts up close.

As long as I'm learning something, I figure I'm OK - it's a decent day.

Funny I was just listening to Benjamin Orr's The Lace and that has several good songs on it, not quite in The Cars style but close enough to appease their fanbase. If you are a Cars fan there are also 7 unreleased Orr songs on You Tube https://youtu.be/gzh7MVjQCJk?si=I-PuL0gYjeZle9nj from what I assume were to be a follow up to The Lace?

The title track is mesmerizing, especially the synths. I'm listening to it right now for the first time in probably a decade.
They literally don't make music like this anymore. I bought this in 1984 on LP and even on my shitty sears stereo it sounded amazing. The 14 year old me loved it and the 55 year old me thinks it might be the perfect album of the 80s.

Stay The Night is really good.
He also looks like the villain from Blade Runner on the cover.

"Drive" is pure pop perfection.

I swear I thought when it first came out Rutger Hauer did a solo album before the release of the movie he did with Gene Simmons Wanted Dead Or Alive which is actually quite good with one of my fav endings of that genre "fuck the bonus!"BernieTaupson wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 9:04 pmStay The Night is really good.

Too mechanical sounding, but there are a LOT of great songs on that one. Mutt is very audible on the backing vocals. Bass sound on "Magic" is really cool.

I just heard "You Might Think" on the 80's on 8 top 40 countdown earlier, and it sounds great as always. Every one of those singles is a classic, IMO.

And yet, The Cars (1978) self-titled album is by far their best.
