Yeah, he’s fucking hilarious, in that he threw away a career and his legacy, to drug and rape women. Mind you, Ol’ Bill could have gotten willing ass from here to Timbuk-fuckin-tu, but no, he had to be a scumbag. He also fucked over every single one of his co-stars, across all of his television programs. Most, if not all of his shows have been blacklisted, therefore squashing chances for residual royalies. Fuck Bill Cosby.

His stand up was absolutely hilarious in the context of the era he existed in; basically the 70’s +/-.

Obviously what we know of his now is far less funny, but in his time his comedy was fantastic.

Yes. In his stand-up years, his material was very "composed." It wasn't off-the-cuff, but it was super-funny. His "Noah" skit is a comedy classic. I first heard them as a kid, but there was always something lurking there, almost like he'd been abused as a kid. When he involved parents in the skits, it would get a little uncomfortable. Very non-"Huxtable." I know someone who knew him in college, and while he never would say much, I did hear him once say, "not the guy you see presented on TV."

The TV show does get shown in reruns, maybe not as much as it could be but it definitely does as we comment on it every time we see it

He was treating women like that all the way back to his college days. Some people talked, but in the 80s, he had a PR team that pretty much got it squelched. For a while.

I've got a feeling that yeah, it still gets shown, but chances are, whoever owns the rights can't charge nearly as much as they would have otherwise. They're probably having to practically give away what was formerly a #1 show, which is kind of insane.

Most of the shit against Bill is complete BS. None of us here know what really happened but I do know that every woman came forward with the same story. Bill gave them a lude and they passed out. I'm old enough to have done and given 100s of ludes to people. NO ONE passed out, ever.

When I was a kid, stuff like “go carts” and “the chicken heart” were hilarious and are classic “clean” standup. Plus, the cartoon and all the awesome characters was and is great. Sexual assault aside, the answer is yes.

If asking if he is/was "funny" or not, the answer is yes. "The Fat Albert Show" alone makes him a legend.

I thought Rudy was funnier.

I did not like him on Captain Kangaroo.

His routine about giving girls 'Spanish Fly' was quite telling.

He gave them drinks most of the time and other times gave them pills. Nobody knows exactly what it was because toxicology wasn't done.

The "We Need to Talk About Cosby" documentary is pretty damning.

I completely agree with both of these posts. His actions toward women tarnished him, but from a purely comedic standpoint, the answer to OP's question is "yes".

Would love to get Bernie's take on whether Jerry Seinfeld was/is funny or not.

His stand-up was brilliant and The Cosby Show was very good, especially the earlier years.

It's a damn shame he turned out to be such a horrible human being.

His old stand up comedy and LPs were really good. So was Fat Albert. He kept it clean and avoided using the "n" word, but was still hilarious. I didn't like The Cosby Show because I found it kind of boring, but I realize a lot of people loved it.

Unfortunately, it turns out that behind the humor, the educational initiatives, and the nice guy persona, he had a very dark side. You might argue a few of the allegations against Cosby could be false or exaggerated, but there have been more than 60 allegations and/or lawsuits that go back to the 1960s, and there are too many similarities among them for any reasonable human not to think there's a lot there. He's lucky not to still be in prison, but his reputation will never recover from his crimes and overall shitty behavior.

Cosby was awesome- Fat Albert was 10
Jello Pop commercials worked..who didn’t beg parents growing into buying those. Can’t remember a time when those were not in the freezer
Cosby Show was great..funny as f*ck
He eneded up in jail..oh well. I ended up lounging at beaches for life. We both won

Cosby would have liked to see Kerry King at Wrestlemania..he missed that. I didn’t
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"
