Chez Kane

Post by tapsmiled »

I’m too lazy to see if this has been posted, but I think Chez Kane is amazing. For fans of 80’s music, she is about as authentic as it gets. While the songwriting has some room for improvement, when she hits, she hits hard.

If this song was released in the mid-80’s, it would’ve been a smash. This gives me hope for today’s music.

We had a discussion about her a few years ago that similarly had little interest. She is hit or miss, but there is some good stuff. I prefer her S/T debut which is basically a cover of the Slippery When Wet album - see for example https://youtu.be/y4sizQPKhl0?si=1UnxtcwlcjPL5lnG

I also liked the cover of Alone with Erik G from Skid Row

Well, that was about dead the fuck on. It's pretty much perfect for what it is.

Apparently it's basically a two-person project between her and Danny Rexon from Crazy Lixx, which is the least-surprising thing ever.

It was a smash hit in the mid-70's, actually. It's practically a direct lift of "If I Can't Have You" by the Bee Gees & Yvonne Elliman.

I think the Crazy Lixx guy wrote this for her.
