I'm pretty sure you would need permission from KISS / Gene to use the make-up in this manner.

It's different if you used a photograph, but an artistic image like this? I'm guessing a cease and desist or lawsuit could be coming.

1the likenesses are taken from pictures they voluntarily posed in with me, my contracts stated I could us video and photos to support my company, with management's permission my company logo shares t-shirts with their companies logo, and my likeness appears in several KISS videos and books for which I receive no compensation, Not for nothing that's my blood recipe Gene is spitting up there so I canalways claim intellectual property, ha ha haand as the back cover states in bold lettering "Disclaimer: No celebrities featured in this book were harmed in its making. They do not sponsor, endorse, condone, contribute to, approve of, or find the slightest amusement in its contents." and besides I do not say anything particularly derogatory about Gene (Ace is a different matter but I really do not think they care) but unfortunately my dark lord will probably never even be aware of it as Gene will not be the problem. It is the army of attorneys whose job it is to scour the internet looking for any unauthorized, or perceived unauthorized use of his image, who will then justify their enormous salaries by automatically filing a cease and desist order without even consulting him. I have said it before, these are fun stories not meant to really hurt anyone but with everything I saw they should be more concerned with the book I could write rather than the one I did! As grandpa Watkins always used to say "Don't sweat the petty things boys, just pet the sweaty things!"
