It's pretty clear in his book that by the time the power slave tour was done he was tired of iron maiden and Steve Harris dictatorship and just tuned out and persued other interests...

I have no personal knowledge but I've read things from people who lived in Albuquerque area in the 80s and claim that Rob and his entourage were notorious for that kind of thing in the area when Rob had a house there.

I honestly, do not think the Lane story is far-fetched, I believe it. I also think it happened when Jani first came out to L.A., well before he even joined Warrant.

That timeline makes sense as Halford got sober in 1986, and Jani came to LA sometime before that. I'm gonna assume once Rob got sober that he stopped drugging and raping guys, not that there was any excuse for that when he was on drugs and drinking.
One thing that doesn't make sense if it was Halford is what Warrant played live on their first album tour.

That seems quick.

NOTB - Hey, you're new, no time to help with the songwriting.

Piece of Mind - You're still new, but help co-write nearly half the songs, even though Harris used to do it mostly all himself - hows jumping to arena headliner sound to you?

Powerslave - Write or cowrite half the album including the title track? Why not? And how bout big leap up to the top of the metal pack with a legendary stageshow?

Maybe Harris was a boring old tool, but I dont see how Dickinson could be that grumpy when he got to contribute a lot, and he could always see how Sampson was doing at the time for a nice comparison of where he could have been.

I don't think these guys think that way.
Once they make it they think they deserve it and expect it.
Bruce seemed to mostly just get bored with it all pretty quick.
And I don't think he looked at how Samson was doing and applied it to himself. He just left Maiden and thought he'd be big as a solo artist.
Just like Halford who left Priest and writes in his book he only realized what he'd done when he was reduced to playing not sold out clubs and thought to himself 'OMG, what have you done'....

It's amusing that the only one without long hair in the whole gang (apart form the accountant in the button up who photobombed) is the actual heavy metal superstar.

It sort of looks like the Mexican dude is holding onto Rob's arm like a prom date but it's just Rob's arms crossed.

Just now read the caption and it looks like the entire Chaisson family is there? Or am I missing some Chaissons?

Yeah that's true. They played "Living After Midnight" during "Cold Sweat." It doesn't make sense to me either. If he knew Rob Halford raped him, I'm not sure why he'd want to sing a Judas Priest song when there are a million classic rock songs they could have done instead. Obviously Jani had a lot of issues in his life that he had trouble dealing with and choices that didn't make sense.

Why are people so convinced he was behind the Jani incident? Because he's gay or is there something I'm forgetting?
Male rapists who rape men are heterosexual in 98% of the cases.

I see Greg, Kenny and Todd... not sure any of the other Chaisson kids are in these pics!

They have a big family of siblings.... which I believe, this is the order, from oldest to youngest.

Greg Chaisson was in Badlands
Brad Chaisson (has sadly passed away - RIP)
Kirk Chaisson (has been a TV News reporter off and on for years)
Terry Chaisson (is the only sister)
Kenny Chaisson was in Keel
Todd Chaisson of Tuff
Mitch Chaisson (is the youngest sibling)

Details were like “big metal band at the time” and apparently Rob & co. have been rumored to pull similar stunts with others. Some other stuff too and Rob checked a bunch is the boxes (more than anyone else that makes sense anyway). Hopefully it wasn’t him, but…

From wiki:

According to several interviews Dickinson was heavily involved in writing several of the album's songs, and in particular the tracks "Children of the Damned", "The Prisoner" and "Run to the Hills".[5] Owing to his previous band Samson's ongoing contractual issues, Dickinson could not legally have any writing credit.[6]

I could see that. Run to the Hills was pretty accessible for it to be a Harris solo-penned tune. Prisoner too.

Beyond what Wiseacre mentioned, the actual interviews by Bobbie are pretty telling. Particularly one time when someone asked what she was into when she was younger, and he asked if she was into metal, and he starts listing bands, and he says something like "you know, Maiden, Priest" and the moment he says Priest she says "oh no, ohhhh no" and he's like "oh, you don't like heavy metal?" and you can hear her say "well... okay, I just have a very personal reason to not like them" and then the guy says "can I ask?" and she kinda sighs and goes "I'll tell you off the air".

The fact that Rob speaks openly in his autobiography about trying to get Paul DiAnno hammered so he could... ahem... "seduce him" is pretty telling as well, and the rumors I've heard from people I trust.

I've deep dove it quite a bit and am somewhat convinced, although the fact that they covered Livin' is interesting.

I thought Halford's book was decent, if nothing spectacular. Very gay, yeah, but I already knew that going in.
Dickinson's book was awful, just boring hobby crap that nobody gives a shit about, too little musical stuff and basically no personal stuff at all! I understand being a private person, but how about just not writing an auto-biography then for fucks sake!

His book is more graphic sexually than KISS or David Lee Roth. Rob relays his sexual Conquests with a wink of the eye often told in puns. We're supposed to laugh with him. But between the lines the guy is a degenerate. Not for being gay, the promiscuity he alludes to is just gross.
Your sexual arousal is nothing to be ashamed of.

Yeah, I read Wiseacre's post and there was a lot I was forgetting. I didn't know that about the Bobbie Brown interview. That's pretty convincing.

But the Priest cover is a weird addition to the story.

We'll probably never really know, too many legalities involved with putting this shit really out there, but it's so sad how much of a mark sexual violence leaves on people. I guess that's part of the point--they're always haunting their victim. Jani seemed like a good guy, he really deserved a lot better in life.

Edit: Had to adjust a pronoun because it looked like I was accusing the poster I was responding to! Unintentional! Pronouns matter, people.
