Alice in Chains cancel tour after Sean falls ill
Just tweeted this. They have not disclosed what exactly is wrong with Sean.

Whatever it is, they first expected him to recover quickly. Not the case now, it seems. Get better, Sean.

So much for ‘the show must go on.’

Hoping he recovers quickly.
In todays world of protools and AI, this is lost BUT......
When Dirt was being recorded they shared the recordings with me prior to release and, up til that time, NOTHING sounded like those drums did on that record.
Of course the songs were great and Layne's vibe was on there, but a huge piece of that record is the drums and drumming.
Still holds up today if you go back.

I was at Mohegan with tickets to the AiC show last Thursday when this happened. Left the cigar bar and went out to the casino, only to see a bunch of fans standing around discussing the state of affairs. My friends and I had not yet heard about the cancellation. One couple said that their friend was working security inside the arena and after sound check, the drummer fell off the riser and injured himself. Who knows if that is actually what occurred or not, but given that they had doors ready to open with metal detectors out in the Area entrance lobby at 6pm, it had to be some sort of freak accident like that vs. a mystery illness.

I agree. It was both the sonics and also the really great groove that he brought to a lot of their songs. On that and the next EP, he was really at his most creative.Ralph2 wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 8:18 am Hoping he recovers quickly.
