For me The Cult's albums are "hit or miss", but IMO, 2012's Choice of Weapon is easily one of the best in their catalog, and the only album of note since 2001's "Beyond Good and Evil".
The singles "For The Animals", and "Honey From A Knife" absolutely rock!

For my ears, Choice of Weapon is ok (and they were quite good on that tour), but I like the next album from them, Hidden City, much better.

Hidden City is probably my least favorite era of the band, including the live version of the band during that time period. They are back on track now that they got rid of the two hired guns from then and added Charlie Jones on bass. In contrast, I love Choice Of Weapon and the live band of that era from 2006 -2014Ozzy Stradlin wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 12:21 pm For my ears, Choice of Weapon is ok (and they were quite good on that tour), but I like the next album from them, Hidden City, much better.
