Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

Definitely expected the second half and the encores to be mixed up more than that, they're still great songs but too predictable. I wonder if playing more familiar material was a way of breaking the new drummer in.

That's a great set list.

KILLERS has been at the top of my wishlist for ages, very happy to see that.
Rime, Powerslave, Phantom and 7thS is too heavy on the long epics, I'd say.

I'm a little underwhelmed. I went to their classics tour in 2018 or 19 and was blown away.
If they played "Die With Your Boots On" or "Moonchild" I would be there though. Those are the ones I want that seem to never be in the serlist.

Way too safe especially after the last tour. That said I’m going to hear Killers, Murders & Rime for the first time ever so I’m looking forward to that. Another easy show for Gers by the looks of it.

Is anyone gonna be happy with a Maiden setlist nowadays.
To me that is pretty solid.

Never. But you could say that for every band talked about on this board.

Re: Maiden ‘Run For Your Lives’ setlist
The last tour was way more interesting to me, Caught Somewhere in Time, Stranger, Alexander the Great played for the first time ever, now that’s a setlist. Although can take or leave the newer songs. Just wish they’d played Sea of Madness.

Re: Maiden ‘Run For Your Lives’ setlist
The last Maiden tour I saw was Early Years, a friend recently offered me a spare ticket to this but I'm going to be abroad. If I was here I'd have taken it. Rime would give plenty of time for a piss-break, though if I was going I'd rather drink less and hear 3 other songs instead. I guess it gives Bruce a decent mid-set break too. He is officially an old age pensioner now.

Any of these instead of Fear Of The Dark and 7th Son would have made me happy. Where Eagles Dare, Flight Of Icarus, Die With Your Boots On, Still Life and Moonchild

Glad Fear Of The Dark is in the set. They haven't played that enough since its release.

Same people that complain over ”Fear of The Dark” still being on the setlist are the ones singing along after a few beers at the concert.

Replace Phantom, Rime and Iron Maiden with .... anything, and I'm happy.
The Prisoner, Where Eagles Dare and Caught Somewhere In Time would be cool.

Yep.
It gets one of the biggest reactions from the crowd.

Re: Maiden ‘Run For Your Lives’ setlist
Couple observations:
1. That's actually a nice setlist for those who loved the early stuff (could I live without Rime and a couple ... sure... but still, after all the recent crap on their setlist, I'll take this).
2. Bruce still sounds great for his age -- hard to believe
3. Surprised more people aren't commenting on the major production change: Maiden FINALLY is using a video screen vs. the curtain backdrops. Lots of the visuals actually look very good and they did a nice job of using the screen mostly as a curtain-like backdrop vs. having an entire video playing behind them. I thought it was a cool transition....

Very good setlist. You can't please everybody with a setlist, but I don't think this one will keep a lot of fans from buying a ticket.
Re: Maiden ‘Run For Your Lives’ setlist
I've seen Maiden a ton, have skipped the last couple of tours but will for sure hit this if/when they come to the US. I may even spend some cash & get a good seat as the setlist is that solid.

Re: Maiden ‘Run For Your Lives’ setlist
Someone was bitching on youtube about the "pace being all over the place". And, while that could be true, can we give the guy replacing the person who's been the drummer for FORTY fucking years more than two shows to bitch about pace?Whatever Happened To… wrote: ↑Wed May 28, 2025 1:42 am I wonder if playing more familiar material was a way of breaking the new drummer in.
To your point, I wouldn't be surprised if having a setlist like this kill two birds with one stone, it satisfies the people that just want to hear the hits, and it allows Simon to get used to what goes on at a Iron Maiden show.

I will note, however, Bruce is back to wearing that ridiculous owl mask for Powerslave.

Hey, your next tank of oxygen is on me!

But 22000 posts equates to about half a dozen posts a day. If that. Hardly a huge amount when you actually break it down. Plus I get to sludge when I'm working from home. Life is good thanks.
