Chevelle vs. Creed
For post-grunge radio rock bands, Chevelle is as good as Creed, but for some reason don’t get even a taste of the popularity. Stuck playing smaller venues and shit festival slots.
I don’t get it. Lack of exposure, maybe? I feel like I have to find Chevelle. Chevelle doesn’t find me. Poorly marketed? Crap label support?

Re: Chevelle vs. Creed
I can name at least 5 Creed songs off the top of my head, but can't think of a single Chevelle song. That is probably your answer right there

I don't care for either band, but I dislike Creed more because of Scott's Eddie Vedder impersonation.

Re: Chevelle vs. Creed
Though they were around at about the same time, they aren't in the same category to me. Creed was all over the radio at the time. Chevelle is a drop-D band, where many of their songs are indistinguishable from one another. They had a few radio tunes (The Red, Send the Pain Below, The Clincher). They opened for Velvet Revolver when I saw them. That says enough.

Re: Chevelle vs. Creed
It was an unfair match up. Creed was not in his prime when they fought. He was never the same after he lost the title to Balboa.

Re: Chevelle vs. Creed
Chevelle had at least 2 huge hits that I remember. So I won’t say I can’t name any of their songs. But I think Creed had around 3 albums full of singles and it seemed like their first 5-6 singles released all went big on MTV and radio. They were as big as the Backstreet Boys. Chevelle was like 98 Degrees or OTown

Chavelle played Ozzfest in 2003. They didn't get much of a response from the crowd.

I made it through about 10 seconds of "The Red"........IMO, not exactly compelling on any level.

Chevelle sounds like watered down Tool. Creed sounds like a cross between STP, AIC and PJ.
I don't think they're all that comparable.

Re: Chevelle vs. Creed
incorrect dumbfuck. For being under the radar, they have GREAT-ass festival slots, and they play big theaters.
was 2nd or 3rd support to the headliner (Korn) just recently at Rockville or some shit.
2016 Open Air festival, were direct-ass support for Rammstein in a stadium.
Always high on the bill even though nobody knows much about em.
Re: Chevelle vs. Creed
Try decaf you glass eyed hyena. And thanks for making my point. Chevelle billed under Korn?? Korn??? Outrageous, but at least everyone could beat the traffic.

Re: Chevelle vs. Creed
Korn are way more famous and popular than Chevelle. They were actually relevant and mainstream at one point. And are still one of the more famous metal bands. It would be weird if Chevelle were billed above Korn.

Re: Chevelle vs. Creed
I know. That’s all I’m trying to say.
Now consider if Chevelle had been properly exposed, marketed and supported over the years. I think their catalog is exceptional, and if anyone knew who they are they’d be even more popular than Korn and all the other shit famous bands.
