Bands with more than one writer and the writer sings the songs.

The one that started it all. Spreading gossip and insults since 1998.

Bands with more than one writer and the writer sings the songs.

There are a few acts that don't cowrite much. Its one person's song. If they write it, they sing it. Not this board's genre but Veruca Salt comes to mind.

The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac almost feel too obvious.

Cars, sort of. Rik wrote most, but Ben had a better voice.

It's absolutely idiotic to contend Zep weren't A-listers in the 1970s.

Guns N’ Roses had a bit of that going on during the Illusion albums. Izzy sang 4 songs, and Duff sang one.

Um, I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say almost all of them unless the producer decides otherwise. Other exceptions might be a band like QUEEN where you have a MAIN vocalists and other guys sometimes sing their own tunes and sometimes they go to the main guy. In those cases it would be almost unthinkable for the a secondary vocalist to sing a song they didn’t actually write.

Yeah, classic line up had 5 writers and at least 3 singers. I'm not sure if Albert or Allen sang.

Scorpions with Uli. Not always, but when they did, it was a mistake.

The Byrds were like this, with Gene Clark and David Crosby most often singing their own songs.

Obviously, Crosby Stills & Nash, also.

Night Ranger, although with some crossover on each other's songs and a lot of co-writes.

Split Enz in the later era usually had Tim Finn singing his songs and Neil Finn doing his.

The Bears most often had Adrian Belew singing his and Rob Fetters his.

It occurs to me that this approach of making a band of several singer-songwriters and having each do his own was much less common in the hair metal era, where bands depended on a singer-frontman to communicate with the audience and where that frontman most often didn't play an instrument on stage (so would have nothing to do if a different band member were singing).
