This is all kinds of awesome and best part is no post-production.

Admitting that I was not much of a big fan of Queensryche back in the day, but always recognized their talent.

In later years I have found myself playing their albums in full and having a new found appreciation for their music.

Tate is NO F'ing joke... doing what he does, consistently, and still in his 60's is beyond world class.

Also... he sings in key live, not just a studio guy!

I saw that tour. It was mad rainy & traffic, just a crap day @ an equally crap venue. Outside, muddy & the stage was budget at best. Neither Queensryche or Ozzy had their full stage dressing/props, the PA sucked & sounded like crap. I was so looking forward to Queensryche & Ozzy & remember being so disappointed. Especially since QR never came back & headlined.

From warning to empire, they were as good as anyone. The popularity always amazed me, cause they got lumped in with the hair scene, but they were way more "mature' than those bands.

Said this before, but I saw Tate on his storytellers tour right before covid and he was great. Told great stories, sounded amazing, played everything. He refused to talk shit about QR, and he seemed really happy.

Was playing in a pool hall, with no more than 200 people there. He tried to meet as many people as he could (without meet and greets). Was one of those, glad i went shows, cause it was on a Wed during a massive snow storm, and I almost bailed

I dont know a lot about them. I know the Empire and Mindcrime hits. But yeah, I never understood them being considered in that group at all.

The only people who would put them on the same category as Poison are those casual fans who don't know the difference between different Rock and Metal genres. They just look at a band photo.

I just noticed that Gang Green opened. That is one weird bill - Boston HC, followed by fast but trad metal (Raven), then QR with their technical metal and futuristic (for 1986) looks, then Ozzy in his Golden Girls phase. Did you (or anyone else) actually see Gang Green?

That could easily be a New Wave band. Queensryche is not a hair/glam band, come on.

Nobody who actually listens to them would lump QR in with the hair metal bands, I love everything they did up to Empire. You can see how a casual fan could lump 'em in with the hair farmers though, with publicity photos like that.

We absolutely made sure we saw Gang Green, because we loved Gang Green. GG were young & didn't care & the crowd turned on them & GG pulled their pants down & mooned the crowd at the end. I remember a bunch of people there for Gang Green because people got there mad early. I want to say we got there at Noon & the place was already packed with Heavy Metal Parking Lot vibes.

Excellent! I loved old Gang Green too but I only saw them once, on the farewell tour (11/91), and they looked like they were going through the motions. Wrathchild America opened: I can't remember a thing about them.
