Dustin is a warrior and a great fighter, but Islam is just too good.

UFC 305 - Max Holloway just suffered his first career KO. Anyone here see it?

Yeah, he was outpointing Topuria too, but the guy has nasty ko power.

Yeah it was great card.

Felt bad for Max. Sad to see. Very likeable fighter. But Topuria just has so much power in his hands for that weight class

Now for some REAL fights... tonight's UFC Card is pretty F'ing stacked for sure.

Who is watching?

UFC 309 - Sat. Nov. 16th 2024

Jon Jones Vs: Stipe Miocic ( I am picking Stipe, not a fan of Jones )

Charles Oliviera Vs: Michael Chandler ( I am picking Charles )

Bo Nickal Vs: Paul Craig ( I want Craig, but Nickal is a wrestling freak )

The whole card has tons of great fights... going to a Party tonight, and they're gonna have the fights, so I am ALL IN!

Weak ppv on paper. And ended up being a boring card.

Stipe vs. Jones was a joke of a fight. Should never have happened as a title fight. Stipe hadn't fought for 3 and half years. And the last time he did he got starched.

It was good but too one sided. Their first fight was better and more entertaining.

And the overall card was poor. Especially for a ppv. Not many good fights on the whole card

That's why I liked it. Oliviera had the precision of an assassin and was on the verge of ending it on so many occasions. But Chandler held on and turned it around in the fifth round and nearly pulled it off. Then he gave Oliviera that piggyback drop at the end - twice. Just to do it, I guess. One of those "fuck it, what are you gonna do" moments. Loved it.

It's been a while since I have watched a UFC, but last night I bit the bullet on the PPV!

Gotta say, I thought Chandler's power would catch Paddy Pimblett, but once again, the goofy Englishman wins again! Damn! And... convincingly too!

Chandler has pretty much been a bust in the UFC, although his fights are entertaining, he is 2-5 since arriving. But... in his defense, he's pretty much fought ALL top tier guys.

Not a fan of Volk... that guy annoys me, wanted Diego Lopes to win... but he was out-matched.

Bryce Mitchell... never liked him, total White Trash Hick POS from Arkansas, and seeing him get choked out, eyes-wide open looking like he saw a ghost was epic!

Anyone else... who you got?

Best card of the year for me.

Yeah I'll be watching the main card. Charles is aggressive and I think he gets clipped and knocked out. But it should be a crazy fun fight. Hoping Charles pulls it off.

I started watching from the Gregory vs. Jack fight. One hell of a knockout. No need for the hammer fist. But Dean was too slow to stop that.

Talbot really improved on the ground. So much so that Lima never seemed like a threat.

Draiush vs. Moicano both looked they age. Nice for Dariush to get the victory as he's been smoked the last couple of times. I think everyone scored that 29-28.

Van vs. Royval was wild. Honestly if it wasn't for the last 10 seconds of the 3rd round, I thought Royval was on the way to a 29-28 victory. But that knockdown swung the round for me. Van will get dominated on the ground and put away by Pantoja if they fight next.

Pantoja utterly dominant in his win. He started to look tired at the end of the 2nd which was a worry for a 5 round fight. Got the finish done in the 3rd. And as I already implied, he should make quick work of Van. Wonder how long Pantoja will keep fighting at the age of 35 as this weight class.

Topuria is the real deal. Damn. Such an impressive technical knockout. Charles I thought was doing alright, but that nuclear option from Topuria is just ridiculous. I wonder if Islam wins the Welterweight if they make a super fight between the two. I'm now down for seeing it after what Topuria did to Charles.

Kai Kara surrendered like he was France. Manel Kape was right, he and his teammates are all a bunch of meatballs.

Best fight for me was Van vs. Royval, such an absolute banger, made my eyes squint a little.
Topuria winning was a predictable outcome, the guy is just too good. That's how you know he isn't a real spaniard, real spaniards lose every fight.

I watched some prelims on ESPN+ but opted to not buy the PPV...

Saw the highlights, and was pretty shocked how quickly / severely Charles got KO'd... WOW!

Ilia Topuria is no joke.

Also saw 1 of the other fights had BOTH fighters throwing 200+ strikes... I think they said it was the most ever thrown in a fight. Nice.

The physical conditioning and ability to deliver/receive punishment of the average MMA guy is absolutely nuts...

The post fight face-off with Paddy was pretty goofy... as he always is... but one has to believe, all of Paddy's UFC luck/dominance over guys he had no business beating, might be coming to an abrupt end when he fights Ilia!

I like Paddy... and that would be 1 of the biggest upsets, ever in the sport if he could somehow beat that guy, but I don't see it happening!

"""""""""""""""I started watching from the Gregory vs. Jack fight. One hell of a knockout. No need for the hammer fist. But Dean was too slow to stop that. """"""""""""

I watched this and thought Wow with that KO... and the guy was pretty much out before he hit the floor.

That follow up Hammer-Fist on a completely out, motionless fighter was SUPER weak.

I see Herb Dean was DEF on his way, but if you watch it, it's obvious to almost everyone the guy was KO'd... and Herb didn't feel the need to completely bum-rush the other fighter... as there was even a slight delay as the other guy was looming over him, like he knew it was over and we all thought... "Congrats... you might be getting an extra $50k"

But then he drops those 2 hammer-fist blows... which were lame AF!

I also understand, until they hear the bell, or the ref is literally pulling them apart, these guys want to fight until they win... also adding... I feel it added some extra disappointment from fans there, and on T.V., when the guy was literally flat on his back and not moving for a LONG time. I mean... F#@k, how long was he on the mat? It seemed like 8-10 minutes... usually a guy is sitting up-right after a KO within 30-60 seconds... anything over a minute creates an immediate concern of, "Holy sh!t! Is he okay?"

Over all, what I saw... great fights... I watched a Fight Night like a week or two ago... and the entire card, 9-10 of 11-12 fights, ALL sucked!
