Love the song. Didn’t love Tobias’s vocals on this. Should have had Jake E out for this one, but Nuno is a freak of nature.

So many thoughts watching this. Nuno did all the heavy lifting here and made Vernon look like a first year guitar student. No judgement.
Nuno is a beast and that's just a fact.
Travis Barker is a wanker. Good drummer but overrated, IMO. Ghost guy sounded awful. I mean, really bad. This song is way out of his range and makes me appreciate early Ozzy more.
I wish Jake could still play this song but he just admitted recently he can't.

I've seen a couple of interviews where Tobias said he never intended to be the vocalist in one of his earlier bands. Somehow, it works for Ghost but he's not the guy who can sing anything. I wasn't aware Jake isn't able to play Bark any longer. Vernon is not on any of my top guitarist lists.

Not sure if true, but I read that he had other songs picked that were within his range and he wanted to do. He was "assigned" BATM and had a go at it. Whatever.

It wasnt great, but watch Billy Corgan ruining everything, and Ghostboy sounds like Pavarotti in comparison.

Tobias thinking "if it was just 1/2 inch longer, it wouldn't keep slipping out" :P

That makes sense. I haven't had the chance to see them live, but with all the production involved in their live show, it is plausible and does work. His voice isn't particularly good, but it's unique for the Ghost sound. I know that at least one or two of the Nameless Ghouls are female vocalists, too. Getting support on the high-range vocals surely helps.

Wouldn't something like No More Tears work better for him?

I'm a fan, seeing them Friday in Atlanta.

I don't know about vocal tracks, but Ghost has had dedicated backing vocalists the last so many years. Not sure why you'd bother doing that if you're piping in tracks. Plus, the new players that have been added in recent years all support the vocals. This is much different than the early configurations of the band where the band didn't sing backups.

This song just is just a bit outside his comfort zone. Tobias is quite capable of pulling off vocals, but he's not an elite level singer. A song like this, he would probably be able to pull off when it's not a one-off and he's had time to find his footing over a few shows.
