Bakersfield has a surprising amount of great antique/used stuff stores.

I almost bought a 100 year old 78 record player last time I was there...and also a 1950's Decca record player...and some midcentury modern end-tables that were also stereo speakers...unfortunately, couldn't get either record player to work consistently.

Really wanted that portable full-mechanical (not electric) Victrola.
