Well, almost.

I remember seeing this in the newspaper at the time and instantly thinking ‘not happening’
Turns out the radio and print ads that featured Motley as support were very quickly pulled by the promoter. Apparently Motley ‘had no idea’ about it or something along those lines. The show ended up going ahead as a one off Dublin-leg of Download festival that year with GNR headlining and bands like Funeral for a Friend and Bullet For My Valentine supporting. I was there - it was a great show.
Crazy how it got as far as radio and newspaper ads though, anyone remember this or know how it came to (not) be?

There’s also not a chance Crue would have accepted this spot on the GNR bill in 2006, just coming off the reunion and Guns seemingly spinning in some kind of post buckethead , pre CD inertia.
I bet Nikki tried hard to make the GNR/Crue stadium show happen a couple of years back as a co headline and I’d bet even more he offered to go on first every night. Axl is probably still laughing.

Ya, pretty much this. I saw this tour with Bach and Danko Jones. Was fun, but Axl was still showing up late. Came on at midnight... 4 hours after Bach had finished. Place was packed. They didn't need Motley..and it would have probably ended in a disasterPhrozenInferno wrote: ↑Wed Jul 16, 2025 12:33 pm There’s also not a chance Crue would have accepted this spot on the GNR bill in 2006, just coming off the reunion and Guns seemingly spinning in some kind of post buckethead , pre CD inertia.
