Bret Michaels Ozzy Tribute Post

Post by kingbrian74 »

Is it just me, or is it weird that Bret Michaels tribute to Ozzy post on Facebook included a picture of Bret, but not a picture of Ozzy?

I get that the guy has a massive ego, but can he possibly be THAT unaware???

JBJ did one too.

That must piss some hardcore Metal guys off. They need to chill out. Ozzy had a glam stint and played on the same bill as them in the 80s.

I think you are reading into things and have a slant.

In his very nice tribute, he specifically states as he throws the "rock horns" he is dedicating tonight's show and all of his shows this week to Ozzy. As such it's a live concert picture with his back to the camera throwing the "rock horns" showing his live concert audience.

I think you are the one that is unaware.

Also, Gene Simmons has a massive ego. I never got that vibe from Bret Michaels and certainly not from this Ozzy tribute post.

I agree with the bulk of your post, but seriously the guy who has banners of himself on stage never gave you massive ego vibes?

What ego??

I bet Tobias is desperately trying to borrow Brett’s palm tree stickers and balloons for Ghost’s stage production.

Dipshit is throwing Dio's symbol, instead of Ozzy's (the peace sign), because he doesnt know the first thing about Ozzy. And why would he? Ozzy played heavy metal, something Bert has never had any interest in.

It's possible, but I don't think so. There was a mention of the shows this week, but the bulk of the post was about the loss of Ozzy and the condolences for his family. Seems to me that the picture was more about Bret and about the Oz man. When you lose someone, it should be about the loss of the person....not 'hey look at me mourning the loss of a person.' It's odd behavior in my opinion.

And oddly, there is another thread on Gene Simmons talking about the loss of Ozzy......and he didn't make it about himself. So even the posterchild for ego maniacs knew enough to not make it about him.

He's throwing the horns because everyone in rock does it and Brets been doing it for years just like a zillion other "rockers". And newsflash the picture wasn't taken to honor Ozzy, it was just a photo of Bret and his audience taken long before Ozzy died

It can be argued Bret doesn't know anything about Ozzy or heavy metal but that wasn't the OPs point of the post.

No, it's the name of his band. Just like every other band has a logo on stage.

To me if anything he is A) has building a brand and B) diffentiating that it's not the 4 guys from Poison.

Whenever I have heard the guy speak he seems like a decent guy who is very thankful for the people coming out to his shows.

I'm no huge Poison or Bret fan, but I think he gets more hate than he deserves on Metal Sludge. And that's not about his music, I am talking personally. I don't get it. There are certainly dicks in hard rock, to me Bret doesn't seem like one of them. He seems like a genuine dude who's thankful for what he's got.

Gene was interviewed. I am sure Bret would have had a similar response in the same format, much like the text in Bret's post.

I just don't see why a live picture of Bret's back and him throwing the horns and an audience with commentary related to that imagery is any worse than a picture of Bret wth Ozzy (which many artists have posted) or a just a picture of Ozzy. (We all know what Ozzy looks like).

Seems like you just don't like the guy and are looking to piss on him.

Nah. I like poison and think Bret is a great frontman.

This just struck me as odd behavior.

When Bea Arthur died, I didn’t post a picture of me watching ALF on tv instead of Golden Girls….or I suppose Maude.

It’s just weird to put a picture of himself up with his tribute to a man that was a legend.

But at least JBJ’s post had photos of him with Ozzy. Quite a few of the rockers had posts like that.

I went to an Ozzy tribute concert last night and a band called Bass Sabbath played (no guitarist, just bass and drums and an occasional keyboard).

All night long the band and the audience threw the horns, particularly in between songs when the singer said "let's hear it for Ozzy!"

I did not witness a single peace sign on stage or in the audience.

Bret should've thanked Ozzy for "Flying High Again," so Poison could copy it for "Nothing But a Good Time."

Wow, the band and the crowd didnt know ozzys hand symbol and just did what is generically done by everyone else. Shocking.
