He's only 6 years older in that pic than I am now. I've considered Ozzy "old" since Ozzmosis, at least. Maybe Ultimate Sin. Crazy the decades of rocking he had in front of him at those times.sirthx2 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 11:37 am FUCK!! And totally agree that his final show being just days ago will absolutely add to the legend. Never be another!!
This is from 2008 at the Roxy on Sunset. I was shooting Camp Freddie with Dave Navarro and the man showed up and KILLED with Crazy Train and Paranoid.

Always kind of bummed Ozzy-Tyoe O Negative - Sepultura show got cancelled
Got give Ozzy credit he always had awesome bands opening No More Tears era- only real reason I wanted to go
His MTV show was awesome- especially when the family wasn’t stars until 2nd season
I loved hearing and reading people bitching about leaving Ozzfest from Devore! Legendary
My first real introduction to Ozzy my was because of WWF
Wrestle Mania 2 or Smackdown?

I guess his funeral will become part of the Back To The Beginning documentary now.
I bet he went to bed after the show and never got up, I seriously believe it took every ounce of his would to do that show and when it was over he was done and he knew it.
If only Black Sabbath would’ve taken a final bow … you can’t get that back.

Get ready for Sharon to milk the fuck out of his legacy even more.

Re: Rest in Peace Ozzy!
I'm shocked frankly. Looked good on the pay per view, yeah he was sitting but it seemed like he had a fire in his eyes and sang better than expected to my ears (but if the PPV was autuned that would explain it haha
)
One of my good friends from high school turned me on to Sabbath way back when. We got to see them before they split, Van Halen was opening, this was '78 or something like that. TBH the Sabbath performance was a let down, Ozzy seemed tired and sat on a stool for some of the show. We all thought he was completely done, fried to a crisp. Then they kicked him out! When the first Ozzy album came out it was SO good, it was like he was a changed man, reborn somehow.
I have seen a lot of Sabbath and Ozzy shows over the years, always a good time.
Ozzy has left the world a better place. Thank you and god bless you Ozzy!!

Yeah, same. Definitely didn't expect him to pass away this soon after that show. It probably took everything he had to be able to perform like that and had nothing left
afterwards. Sad sad day. Ozzy was one of those people that seemed like would be around forever. RIP.

So glad he was able to do it one more time. Back to the Beginning means so much more now.

This. Think of if Back to the Beginning didn't happen? Right now we'd all be like, "Remember five years ago when....".MattleyCrue wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 3:45 pm So glad he was able to do it one more time. Back to the Beginning means so much more now.

Re: Rest in Peace Ozzy!
Heard the news at work like many people. Sucked. Told some coworkers about the time back in first grade I brought my brother's copy of Ultimate Sin in for show & tell. Got sent to the principal's office and grounded
Absolutely worth explaining my love for his music even at age 7, and that album in particular, which still is one of my favorites from him.
Got home, raised one up and have been dropping the needle on Ozzy records ever since. Hope the neighbors are enjoying the show.
RIP Ozzy!

Was fortunate to see him twice - with Sabbath at Ozzfest 2001 and solo doing an extensive 25 song solo set in 2003.

I have Black Sabbath Paranoid signed by all the members. It was my most valuable LP in my collection. Now Ozzy has died the value has probably increased!REO Cokewagon wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 10:40 pm

I think now might be a good time. I don't think other members dying will increase the value too much. You can make an offer if you like.
