“I live like I want to- not like I should, yea”
That’s why my life is better than any rockstar or celebrity
Don’t want to be Axl or Jacob Fatu

Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

Lead singles off the 1st 2 albums, "Hollywood" and "All The Time in World" are great, however the remainder of both albums are mostly filler.
Re: Essential Junkyard Tracks
I also think the last 2 tracks were really good, Lifer and last of a dying breed, although Blooze is my favorite song

Back On The Streets and Throw It All Away both have kickass guitar riffs. But I have a soft spot for Clean The Dirt. My wife turned me on to them years ago and I couldn't believe they had the cajones to float Tex and the Horseheads out there to a metal audience. Got my interest piqued right off the bat.

I always wondered why the Junkyard guys were listed as co-writers on “clean the dirt.”exitflagger wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 8:46 pm Back On The Streets and Throw It All Away both have kickass guitar riffs. A lot like Havana Black, I never found Junkyard or their music to be “essential” to anything.

I figured there might be a couple true fans of this band on here to provide recommendations. I don't remember hearing much about them back in the day.Tommy2Tone84 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 05, 2025 3:08 amRocker4Real wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 11:28 am It's time for you true fans to pay tribute and provide the essential Junkyard. Re: Essential Junkyard Tracks
No but I figure the Junkyard guys were around the LA music community long before they released anything as Junkyard. Mike Martt and that band were from LA too. There was a punk flophouse / practice facility in Hollywood called Disgraceland and they were all involved with that. Probably wrote it together there. But I don't know all the details.DangerZone wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 9:39 pmI always wondered why the Junkyard guys were listed as co-writers on “clean the dirt.”exitflagger wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 8:46 pm Back On The Streets and Throw It All Away both have kickass guitar riffs. Check out Waste of Time from their 2002 ep
"It's much easier to live a lie
You think I'm kidding man give it a try"
Some good good stuff on their debut 1988 ep too.
It's a shame Joker and XXX weren't actually released when they were recorded. At least half of the songs got released on Old Habits Die Hard, but a lot of good songs left off. They should have just put both out instead of mashing them together.
