Who has been attacked by Michael Sweet online?

Post by kingbrian74 »

We all know that $tevil got his dose of Michael Sweet attitude online. But who else had received a dose of his shit?

I'll start:

He posted a link to an interview with him where he was alleging he was misquoted. In the interview, he said that any 80s band that isn't making new music should just hang it up and work at Burger King. He was pissing and moaning that he meant they need to keep their creative spark to stay passionate about their music or some shit like that. Then HE ASKED if he should have answered the question differently.

I replied something along the lines of suggesting that he should have said, 'well, I can't speak for other bands, but for Stryper, this is how I feel...' Then, I went on to say that I had recently seen 'the band that cannot be named' and they played a set that was 95% off the first album, and that the singer seemed to be having a great time up on the stage.

He then had some shitty response that he should clear his interview responses with me first, to which I responded that he fucking asked!

A friend of mine also got shit on by him when his comment was actually a positive Stryper comment, but he just can't help but be a douche.

There must be others out there who got their share of shit from Mr. Sweet.

Sweet may have the persecution complex that is common with a lot of Christian wannabe preachers.

Of course I am not alone... but if you look at his page, and his post about me, you will see 750 people telling him how great he is, and how bad Tuff sucks.

If you look at my posts of the same, you won't see hundreds, but you will see dozens of comments, many of them detailing something along the lines of what you dealt with.

In the Metal Sludge article I posted, at the bottom, I shared about a dozen of them... all kinds of random "complaining", or him poking the bear if you will.

We all remember his run-in with Bach... which resulted in them insulting each other for 5-6 years, before they kissed and made up on a Kiss Kruise.

Sweet also took shots at Sixx, saying his Books were not honest or truthful and full of B.S., then Sixx called him out and Sweet sucked his balls and apologized.

A few years later, Motley announced The Stadium Tour, and Sweet went out of his way campaigning as to why Stryper should be on the bill... perhaps they would have had a shot had he not attacked Sixx publicly a few years earlier.

Nobody can forget the day he posted how the fans who Hate Stryper, must Hate God too... and he went on and on, about the hatred for his band and Jesus Christ.

Then there was the post when Sweet said he was "Miffed", that fans won't buy into Stryper, but they will drink beer, have sex and go to see bands that worship Satan.

""""""It’s interesting to see people comment on their distaste for Stryper. Often they say they don’t like us yet they really aren’t that familiar with us.
They would never admit that most likely it’s the lyrical content. If that’s true – how sad. To not like something you don’t even understand. Yet people will listen to bands praising Satan, sex and God knows what else and lift a beer and say “I love this!” The world is a very peculiar place."""""" - Michael Sweet

When Bret released his Country song "Girls On Bars", Sweet publicly dissed it, saying something like it was a "Hard pill to swallow" when these guys go Country.

Then there was the Christian label, Girder Music, that licensed, and pre-paid royalties, and allege, they did the deal with Stryper's management as well... but Michael was mad, and felt slighted, so he went out of his way to tell fans "Do NOT buy these", even though the label did all by the book.

Let's not forget when Ultimate Guitar did an article, and noted 7 Glam Bands from the 80's who got hit the hardest by Grunge. Even though they didn't write anything negative about Stryper, and actually gave them plenty of praise, Sweet was pissed that he was lumped in with "Glam bands", and went and posted the article, then tagged it with: "Poison, Faster Pussycat & Tuff were Glam, Yes. Stryper. No!"

Funny, how he continues to act like he doesn't know me, doesn't know about my band, but on multiple occasions has made sure to use my name, or the band name Tuff, to make a point.

"IRONIC ...… Michael Sweet of Stryper says he wants musicians to quit complaining: “No one around you wants to hear it. It’s a joy robber, a life sucker and an absolute downer.” > https://metalsludge.tv/ironic-michael-s ... te-downer/

There are many more examples...

And I am sure he has attacked, ridiculed and blocked a ton of fans for not worshiping him and his music.

He's a typical Christian who calls god his and everyone's "Heavenly Father" but looks forward to judgement day when that same loving father will supposedly wipe out 90% of the world's population, his unbelieving "children". There's gonna be a lot of blood and guts apparently.

What a wonderfully whacky thing religion is.

I'll be the devil's advocate here. I have met him several times over the years going way back to the "In God we trust" tour and his after stryper mid 90's solo days. He has always been kind. Even a few years ago at the rocknpod, we all hung out backstage in the "green room". He sat at the next table beside us and we all had a good time talking shop and music. He treated everyone, even us no name guys the same. He also went out of way to let us know he enjoyed our set before him. Plus the normal rockstar stuff, "how's your Cholesterol levels"? seriously. Even hung afterwards in lounge. Maybe its an online thing. I dunno. But in my book, zero issues.

I met him on the 30th anniversary tour for to hell with the devil and it seemed like he was super cool to all of his fans in person. But yes, his online rants and tirades show a completely different side. I've been a fan since I was 12 or 13 years old but it's pretty difficult to defend his online interactions.

Many people are like this. Might seem cool when you bump with them from time to time or hang out with them. But when they are online it is total bitterness, constant complaining and blaming everybody else. So actually that kind of online behavior shows their true colors.

The Stryper camp always seemed like they had their fair share of douche in them. Then again, don’t we all?

There always seemed to be some type of drama going on in the band. I’m not a big enough of a fan to care at this point. I never was the biggest fan

I can’t blame anyone for talking shit on Nikki Sixx and Motley Crue.
