AC/DR'S two best records

Post by Don't Damn Me »

Same title, completely different track listing. "Love Song" wasn't officially released in the US until 2018 and is the only ACDC song to have piano

That would be a good thread though, favorite two AC/DC albums. That would be hard to figure out between Powerage, Highway to Hell and Back in Black. What to lose?

Nice choices. I really like some of the dark horses like For Those About to Rock and the Maximum Overdrive soundtrack.

I loved the rawness of High Voltage.
Out of tune.
Gritty.
Almost greasy, one might say.

It's hella greasy. It's nuts actually. You can almost hear the dingo eating the baby.

Back in Black doesn't get a lot of praise on here because we're all sick to the back tooth of it, like Hysteria or Escape but it's important to remember that there is a reason that every damned song in BiB is a radio cut. That said, for me, it's Powerage and Flick of the Switch.

In that order, so BiB doesn't quite make the top 3. Bon Scott makes the difference.
This thread confirms that AC/DC may have the worst catalog for a huge hard rock band.
There's nothing even close to those three albums. Big drop to whatever is #4.

I'm a huge Brian Johnson fan but yeah, the formula from about 1981 onward was 1-3 good singles and all filler. Although I like "the filler" on FotS, it's true.

Back and Black and Highway to Hell. Dirty Deeds would be next if there was a third.
