Still remember in 1996 choosing between prepaying for a multi disc demo collection put together by the artist himself, or one by a different artist but put together by a bunch of fans I only knew from a mailing list. I even had some input myself on the track listing and packaging.

A year later, I got my copy of the fan made Van Halen - Looney Tunes 4cd set in the mail.

That's a great comp, despite the George Lynch clips on there! It was already underway when I joined the VHML, but I was able to get one of the extra ones.

Wonder if Uncle Ted got a co-writing credit on this gem?

Thought you were joking but holy shit those are the real song titles.

What other songs are going to be on the record? ''Hole where my balls used to be'' and ''Leather & Lace & Ky Jelly''

I'll take some blame for the Lynch tunes, I recall we voted on what to include and I was for having them on the comp. At the time they were thought to be early Van Halen demos with Mark Stone on bass and a singer called Greg Stafford or Sanford. Someone on the list said Mike Anthony had confirmed the title Black Star as an early VH song. Two of those songs are now officially released on a cd with Lynch's early band Xciter.

Then that would be “minor metal poontang”
