Fleischman goes to town on THE ULTIMATE VIN in interview

Post by HueyRamone »

I saw this posed elsewhere, havent listened yet.

Vinnie Vincent Invasion singer Rob Fleischman gives 2025 update on Vinnie

https://youtu.be/NOj_wgupDnY?si=txCMn4fFdqecpBeD

@ 1:04:00 he answers some modern-day specific questions about Vinnie. Some highlights:

Arguing with Vinnie is like “trying to argue with your retarded cousin. It’s no use.”

Vinnie "is like a wounded animal … and an a$$hole.”

Robert last spoke to him two years ago, and Vinnie thought he was recording the conversation.

Robert rejected Vinnie’s idea of replacing Mark Slaughter’s vocals on All Systems Go,.

Recently, Vinnie got a bunch of money from somebody and went into the studio and started remixing Guitarmageddon. And then he disappeared…

He doesn’t have "the money to manufacture" Guitarmageddon.

Vinnie likes to wear "Hillary Clinton suits."

Vinnie had a bulletproof vest on at the 2018 Atlanta expo.

He wishes the best for Vinnie and wishes he could one time follow-through … but it just won’t happen.

Vinnie is a monster player – he can play anything and an incredible songwriter.

More talk about earlier years with Vinnie @ 53:00.

The first Invasion album is the ultimate over the top hard rock album and is even more over the top than Nitro. Super high vocals, drums sound like a drum machine, and his solos are completely insane and don't even follow the song melody or structure in any way most of the time.

I like it too, but at the core the songs are solid and would have made a killer mainstream 80s hard rock album with other production, lyrics and vocals. There are semi-instrumental demos of half the album that VV and Hirsh Gardner recorded for Animalize while Vin was still negotiating with G+P and those who have them (The "Partners in Crime" / "Alex Room Service" guys) say they sound killer and a lot more organic and would make a great follow-up to LIU.

As talented a guitarist and songwriter VV is, he needed someone to reel him in. On his own it is just noisy.

Vinnie is some sort of mentally ill. Not to complete debilitation, but it's there. This is blatantly obvious, and it's a bit sad.
