Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
That friend of mine pretty much turned me on to the Peavey amps.....
Something I've found is that Hartley biases almost ALL of his amps cold for the most part......tubes live longer, as does the rest of the components.
Re-bias'em a bit hotter and these things come ALIVE...Kevin Silva of Uncle Albert's Amp repair here in Indianapolis is a great guy to have stuff done by. He's been at it a LONG time and has handled some pretty big names' gear(Ted Nugent is one that I recall).....but there is a bit of a wait as he has one hell of a backlog.

I'll take it to Tonky Krank! Tony is starting a new amp company and you can get an new 100w 2 channel USA amp for $900... they sound amazing.
I bought his prototype delay and it kills too.

Tony Krank is no longer with Krank amps? Damn, there's a LOT of that shit going around.....I just mentioned Silva b/c of his expertise and name recognition...he GAVE the mod info on that Mace to my friend, free of charge. Not a lot of guys willing to do that.
Will have to look into what TK has going on....he have a website up yet?

Nah,the Marshall on its own sounded too good.
I just used the clean channel of the Marshall and ran a Sansamp in my pedalboard for the distortion...
I also had an eq doing TONS of mid-boost.
Pickup was GFS Retrotron hot Nashville. Really good for that guitar...

Love those. A guy here had a new combo mispriced at $369. I saw it twice, came back to buy it and he'd changed the price to $589.wattage13 wrote:PRICELESS!!!

Thanks guys, the speakers are getting broken in better and the Triumph with new pots sounds ALOT better now. Now will be starting building my own 59 Les Paul Standard if this Storm of the Century lets up long enough.ElToro wrote:If you want to hear the amp, go to the 5 minute mark... he has a Triumph clip that sounds pretty decent too.

Waiting on tax check to come in....byoguitar.com has an all- mahogany set-neck Explorer kit that really has my attention.
I like the fact that they have drop-down menus to upgrade the kit to certain features...such as a Tusq nut(white or black XL), differnt pups and such.
That LP clone looks neat enough...how's it sound, neck profile?

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
Finally got my custom Wolfgang! I had the body/neck done by Scott Fletcher in Washington state(northern swamp ash/maple neck, ss frets) and the paint done by a buddy of mine(vintage gold top). I was supposed to have it built by this kid who wants to have his own repair shop but he never built it. Months went by and never heard from him....he was supposed to do my Warmoth Flying V and he didn't do that one either. So I had to bite the bullet and take it to the shop so it was done right.ElToro wrote:Did anyone get anything out there?
The wolf has the new Wolfgang pickup clones(also done by Scott Fletcher), and sound mean as fuck. I can't wait to plug it into my rig. I'll post pics tonight...she also has a reverse Wolfgang headstock...which turned out fantastic.
Toro, just dropped the San Dimas off at the shop to put in that EVH/'78 pup in the bridge and to get a new pot for it. Can't wait to hear the new pup in there. She already sounded great as is...love that damn guitar man.
I will also have my warmoth Flying V ready in two weeks...it's like Christmas at my house!

Nothing else new still freaking over the Egnater Tweaker at the moment.
I am selling a slightly beat up PRS SE One, killer little guitar that needs a real home. Probably $275 shipped

I've spent the past couple weeks playing bass, getting my picking fingers toughened up. I had forgotten how much I truly enjoy it. Always wanted to get a gig holding down the bottom in a working cover band, but I've never committed to it. Anyone booked on the convention circuit? I can slap and pop for ya, if you need it.

Thought I had some more pics, will take later. YOu can't really see the bruises that well. None really affect anything other than vantiy. Great guitar to have as a beater though. The PRS P-90 is pretty great.

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
Ok friends...looking for advice...I want to properly use my effects loop on my amplifier but just not sure how. Ive always went in series with all my effects on my board into the amp. I feel with some help from you guys I would really benefit more out of my equipment. Its a puzzle to me!
This is what I have to work with:
MPS Pedal Pad
Boss Volume Pedal
Boss Compression Sustainer CS-3
VOX Satchurator
Boss Equilizer GE-7
Boss Chromatic Tuner TU-2
Boss Super Chorus CH-1
MXR EVH Phase 90
MXR Carbon Copy
Boss Noise Suppessor NS-2
Reason I was specific was in case one model would make a difference over another. All input/advice/suggestions is really appreciated.
Thank you Guys!
