Yes, he's pretty charismatic and intelligent too. Talked about a Finnish painter at the show. He looks like a university lecturer after a drinking binge though.

Wait, so u were a creed fan 25 years ago, and been a closet creed fan all these years?? Why have u been hiding it?mrsnikkisixx wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 8:06 pm Saw Creed on Wednesday at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. Parking was free, which was nice. Didn’t like any of the shirts, but bought 2 outside for $20. We missed Finger Eleven, and most of Three Doors Down (no loss, AFAIC), but did hear the big songs from them. Creed was absolutely amazing, and sounded just as good, maybe even better, than they did 25+ years ago. I was genuinely impressed, and very much enjoyed it.
I was there too, seems like they played a lot more old songs than they did their headline show at the Regent last year. I thought they were great and most of the crowd had no idea about any of their songs.SterileEyes1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 8:25 am Foo Fighters and Pretenders last night. Took my mom. She loves Dave Grohl.
Pretenders spent 1/3 of their set playing new stuff and it was kind of bizarre. One new song? Alright. Two? Pushing it. Four? Pushing the new shit on a stadium crowd as an opener when in your 70s is an…interesting move I guess.
Foo Fighters are always great. I don’t know what Dave injects into his Adam’s apple before every tour to be able to (smoke and) scream like that at 55 years old, but it’s certainly entertaining. Josh Freese is of course a monster up there. The setlist was unreal.
You ever see the multi-part documentary he did on outsider art in the late nineties? https://youtu.be/1pEyeZhXOUwHellsinkey wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 1:03 amYes, he's pretty charismatic and intelligent too. Great name but that was NOT what I was expecting, musically. I flicked through a few videos, they all sounded like they could have been on a Brat Pack film soundtrack. And yes, the singer is v hot.EzyRider wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 2:11 pm Doom Flamingo in Big Sky MT, 'Music in the Mountains' (Aug 8 2024) https://bigskyarts.org/pages/mitm
This was fun show. Tons of boozed up mountain chicks! The girl next to me kept screaming she wanted to fuck the blue hair singer girl and leaned over the barricade a few times but security made sure that didn't happen.
Never heard of Doom Flamingo, but go see them if they come to your town, you may have more fun than you expected!!!

They don’t get talked about very much here (not that I’ve seen, anyway), so no reason to say anything about them.
How much?DonJuanDeMarco wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 6:36 am All in all, a great show. I overpaid for tickets (thank you ticketmaster and your "official platinum" tickets) but other than that, I would recommend going!
Let's just say I'll be watching a LOT of TV for the rest of the year! Floor seats for 3 Stadium Shows this year... Def Leppard, Rolling Stone and George Strait/Chris Stapleton. Enjoyed the hell out of all 3 shows though!jens wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 12:43 amHow much?DonJuanDeMarco wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 6:36 am All in all, a great show. Well, duh. I mean, it WAS 7:42am. What that was supposed to say was if Slash set out to get the best "available" players at the time, he got them with this band. Point being the band was really good and much better than my grammar.
I really wish I could have gone!Neil Diamond Dave wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 1:04 pm Dead & Co.
The Sphere @ Las Vegas
Words cannot describe how the Sphere has changed live entertainment forever. The visuals were outstanding. John Mayer continues to blow me away as a guitarist - Perfect fill-in for Garcia. Bought tickets for Friday months ahead of time for a premium, and then looked for tickets on the day of the show for Saturday and got them half off what Friday's cost me.
If you stay at the Venetian, you can go directly from your hotel room with your beer or homemade cocktail in hand, and walk directly to the Sphere in full air-conditioned bliss without needing to walk outside at all. Unbelievable experience.

Literally fell asleep standing when I saw them at a festival 10-ish years ago. Reading this I might go when they're playing over here in fall. Cheers!Love_Industry wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 11:48 pm
Next thing, when they start playing there was a different feel, a lot more energy than at the couple of shows I saw since Sweden Rock in 1999 with Steve Morse on guitar.
Hey you only need a golfcart to transport you to make it like that scene in Wall-E!Neil Diamond Dave wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 1:04 pm If you stay at the Venetian, you can go directly from your hotel room with your beer or homemade cocktail in hand, and walk directly to the Sphere in full air-conditioned bliss without needing to walk outside at all. Red Fang is awesome, I saw them open for (pretty sure) Mastodon, been a fan since.GoodJudge wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 2:29 pm Red Fang and Yur Mum @ Camden Underworld

Red Fang packed the place out but we got a great view from the stairs. An hour and a bit of prime stoner rock; tuneful grooves like the best of Kyuss, not navel-gazing sludge like too much of that genre. The band were obviously totally enjoying themselves too. 2nd headliner in a row that I've seen with no encore, but it didn't matter.
