All that widdly-widdling on the bass sounded fucking retarded. And they had mediocre songs.

How progressive of you.

Is Billy’s widdling anymore “retarded” than Les Claypool’s or Flea’s? Flea always looked and sounded like that kid from the Special Ed class whose parents forgot to give him his Ritalin.

One man’s filler is another man’s killer.

the widdling sounded bad on dlr’s shyboy, too.

There’s a fairly fine line somewhere between progressing an instrument & making it do things for which it’s not intended

Very odd comparison considering their bass styles are completely different. Les and Flea were the first (white) guys to make slap mainstream, granted Les did it in a very strange and unique context musically.

Billy is basically shredding on a bass. I don't see any issues with someone preferring one over the other.

They SHOULD be great, but the lack of range in the vocal department hurts them. John Waite had three solid songs as a solo artist that I remember, but did nothing for Bad English. Eric Martin is just bad across the board
Agree... if you're forming a "supergroup", your singer shouldn't be ordinary

I don’t know. I found Weiland mostly ordinary in VR. It worked and he brought a level of fame a s name recognition but he was sort of blah and kinda didn’t fit that style imo. Their induction of VH into the HOF was mildly embarrassing too.
Yeah... for Spazzy. Their piss-take on Runaround was genius.

I don't love them, but I do love "Green Tinted Sixties Mind" and think it's one of the best songs of its era.
