(Perfect Strangers) was a commercial success, reaching #5 in the UK charts and #17 on the Billboard 200 in the US. Perfect Strangers was only the third Deep Purple studio album to be certified platinum in the United States, following Machine Head (1972) & Burn.[6] The tour was so successful that the band had to book many additional dates to the U.S. arena tour, as tickets sold out very quickly. Their U.S. tour in 1985 out-grossed every artist that year except Bruce Springsteen.[7]

Probably a few Yacht Rock bands in this category. Genre faded but now revived. Idk if they did a lot of touring in that style of music or they were mainly studio and AM radio bands.

I think you're on to something, there was some shiznit with Imaginos and Bouchard, like he quit and spent 5 years on it, then rejoined and they re-recorded it but it went nowhere. Time for some interwebz searching and Spotify spin.Love_Industry wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 8:20 amDidn't they also self destruct in the meantime and had to re-record the former drummer's rejected solo album with guest musicians to fulfill the contract or something like that? I wasn't into BÖC at the time (I am now) but I recall Imaginos started as their drummer's solo album.

Band's what? Their fortune? Their fans? Their record deal? Their groupies? Their stash? What thing of theirs are you talking about vanishing?

OK, but which one? You said the band's, not the bands. So it's not more than one band but rather is something belonging to a band. So what thing?ParaDime77 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 4:57 pmYes. Bono and I were discussing Y&T. Are you a fan? Probably not. Miniketti plays a Les Paul. Not pointy. Ever seen them live? Just realized I probably had 6-7 albums by them. Don’t remember them ever touring in my area.HueyRamone wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 12:48 pmIt is one of Autograph's best singles.DemonFilth2001 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 12:41 pmI actually remember that song. Seeing ELO mentioned reminded me of when much later on - in the early 2000s I think - they had to cancel their tour before it even started due to low ticket sales….and now they’re playing arenas and larger venues and selling pretty well at least at the one that I went to see.

Well, not completely, as "Calling America" was a minor hit in '86. Maybe after that, but Jeff Lynne was still in the spotlight with Traveling Willburys.
I guess a case could also be made for Supertramp mentioned above, even though "Cannonball" was also a minor top 40 hit in '85, much like ELO with "Calling America" the following year.

I like you Demon but in Huey’s defense, you and NotTooOldToBeATard2 have been saying some dumb shit on here recently.
