Bullshit. I’ve been here pretty much since the very beginning when the there were hilarious band reviews, ball busting new 20 questions “exposed” shit and all the rest. Yeah, the focus was on the hair metal scene because of the CEO’s background, but pretty much ALL the content was ripping on bands and dudes from that scene (and the CEO was anonymous). GTFO with that nonsense about everyone here being into hair metal. That was NEVER the case. Tons of thrash metal fans, grunge fans, classic rock fans, punk fans and more. It is not calked HAIR METAL SLUDGE. It was always about music and all about the message boards. Plenty of dirt and sludge on all kinds of bands have always been discussed just like now.

Also there a LOT of bands that are considered part of that scene who were never considered “hair metal” in their early years (or after that period) like Ozzy, KISS, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Scorpions and lots more that always had plenty of fans come here to discuss their sludge as well.

A better question for you might be why would a Bieber fan spend time on a website that is all about trashing him, making fun of him and breaking his balls? If this was a hair metal worship site half the people would never have even come here.

I think you miss the point of this place's original intention. I think most people here were fans of hair metal but also were able to laugh at the silliness of it or the goof on a "rock star." Just like the many of the hair metal band members that took 20 questions as a joke and gave good answers. i.e. the opposite of Sebastian Bach.

Actually YOU missed the entire point. The poster I was originally responding to was making the claim that everyone here (or at least in the beginning) was at very least a closeted hair metal fan. Absolutely was NEVER the case. The guy who told me about Sludge was a charter poster here and a thrash metal guy with a great sense of humor who knew I loved ball busting fun. I never came here to read Jani Lane’s business or gave a shit about who was or wasn’t an asshole in Skid Row. It was just hilarious writing and funny people talking about MUSIC, musicians, groupies, touring bands to and most of is was obviously about hair metal bands. I was never a fan of that music at all warn there to bash innit either. It was just a funny board and loads of fun to read and post on.

eventually the site became primarily about the board(s). Just like the old KISS Asylum boards that were primarily KISS fans who could call out their bullshit and mock the dumbest shit they did. When that board went away a lot of those people came here becasue the mood was similar u like places like the FAQ where no one can criticize the band without being banned or making tards cry.

I never really BASH hair bands specifically here aside from maybe shit like Poison and I know there are fans. It was just never my thing. I don’t even usually comment on those bands all that often unless it’s about some generic behavior that relates to every kind of music.

Like a LOT of people, I came here around 25 years ago (maybe more?) for a good laugh. A lot of the content HAPPENED to be about the LA scene becasue of Stevie’s background but it was never all about just those bands, ever. There was Slayer Exposed and hilarious reviews of shitty metal bands and lots more.

So, for however many times I’ve said it now, you r comparisons to hanging out on a board “about music I don’t like” is totally irrelevant. Look at the bands mentioned on the first page of this board. It’s never been any different.

I may not have read the news items about Kip Winger, but if there was a 20 questions with busting his nuts I would read it and laugh my ass off. It could have just as easily been Tom Araya.
