Sounds like they just had Dolly sing over the CD version and tried to mix her in. There's no way they went back to the actual reel and remixed the entire thing properly. It's just the 1985 version with Dolly crowbarred in.

Dolly's singing has sounded pretty fragile and soft for a while, but the 2nd verse was the most real singing she's done in a while. That's being said, it's still dogshit and pointless idea. Nobody was asking for this and nobody cares.

Wow...I'm actually embarrassed about this. They didn't even re-record it. It's literally just Dolly singing over the original album version. And they put it on a new Greatest Hits record? Wow.
