RECORD SHOPS in YOUR HOME TOWN ... Does your home town have a cool local Record Shop?

The one that started it all. Spreading gossip and insults since 1998.

Some more really good ones off top of my head:

Music Millennium in Portland, OR

Phonoluxe in Nashville, TN

The now-gone but very much missed "ear-x-tacy" in Louisville, KY

Electric Fetus in Minneapolis, MN

Twist & Shout in Denver, CO

Record Collector's Paradise in Edmonton, Alberta

Flashback in London (both locations that I've visited)

Concert Records in Amsterdam

Blue Desert Music in Malmo, Sweden

Michael Danner's Beat Bop in Copenhagen, Denmark

Also, Sound Station in Copenhagen, Demark

Rakk & Ralls in Oslo, Norway (Neseblod is a little over-rated to me)

Red Warehouse in Singapore

Penny Lane in Christchurch, New Zealand

Utopia Records in Sydney, Australia (almost entirely metal)

Also, Red Eye Records in Sydney

The entire Disk Union complex in Shinjuku area of Tokyo, Japan

I will say that Raleigh is a terrible, hipster, no rock music town. It's hillbilly bluegrass or nothing in this burg.

Which is a shame because COC, Cry of Love, and others formed here when there was a solid rock and punk scene in the 80s and 90s. City lost its gritty soul.
I'm sorry dude, but you sound like a grumpy old man! The music scene here is very good. Schoolkids wouldn't stock TUFF if Stevie bundled a $100 bill with every LP.

I have lived here since 2002, so I missed the Cry of Love days. I was not a big fan of their "hit" record. However, I did see Kelly play drums for Phil Lee once during a Christmas gig at The Office Tavern. It RULED.

Too bad Kelly drank himself to death.

How many Sludgers live in the Triangle, do you think? I would be up for an in-person meet-and-greet.
