Local News outlets are now reporting, more than 5,300 structures have been completely destroyed. Not damaged, destroyed.

I just was allowed home a couple of hours ago. I live near the Rose Bowl and had a mandatory evacuation on late Tuesday night. I was very lucky. No fire damage. The winds destroyed my fence, but I needed a new one anyway. I found a lot of ash in my yard. My neighbor found a burnt log on his lawn, has no idea how it got there. Thank goodness that it did not catch anything on fire. I have several friends that lost their homes, not only in Altadena but also in the Palisades. It's pretty awful. We shut down filming for the last few days as well. Terrible air quality and honestly nobody wanted to be there. Supposed to go back on Monday. Winds are supposed to pick back up this weekend. Happy 2025.

More evacuation warnings (some are mandatory) are in effect on the side of the hill by Ventura Blvd. in the Valley... and the streets are starting to get full of cars, semi-gridlock now as people start to flee!

I am about 30-35 miles from Pasadena/Alta Dena area...

I am more worried if it gets to the far NW end of West Hills, on those mountains, or over by Porter Ranch... which is literally 1-2 miles from me.

Since living here, I have seen fires on these ridges multiple times, but nothing like these fires this week.

It looks like this sh!t is not going to end anytime soon... likely through the weekend, and like you noted, winds are supposed to get bad again Monday and Tuesday!

If you have insurance you will get paid out. However, insurance in the LA area will now become super expensive, or policies will just be cancelled and you'll be unable to find insurance for your home. Not good. We had the same thing happen up here in the Vancouver area, out in the Fraser River valley where there was just too much flooding and people can no longer get flood insurance along the flood plain.
