Maybe she could take it off and glue it to a tele? :)

I'm going to put a SD active in my Gutierrez SuperStrat... I understand they have changed them. Anyone know about those?

Oh it's in there, for sure! Night and day difference. I can't believe they even demo those things in the stores any other way. Actually the Wah and EVH are the only effects in front.

So here's what I did today...this is my stagemaster, all dressed up and ready for Dokken day...

Image

It looks better in person...the flash made the yellow look less deep than it is...it's distinctly orangy towards the center.

...since I didn't wait at al before the clear coat, there is some cool checking happening, like on the original. Can't wait to see it in a few days when it is really dry.

Here it is before:

$125! A bargain

I used to do finishes at our shop's that were beautiful. Hand sanded and polished from bare wood to
2000 grit. Great vintage colors. People would come in, look at my fizz-bombed looking
personal guitars, and wonder to themselves "This is the guy I'm handing my Strat over to?

Sounds like me...I spent years babying other guy's guitars, but on my own, if a bridge comes up, I'll drill through it and put a bolt in...if a fret comes up, I'll hit it with a hammer.

...mind you, I make them play and sound good, I'm just not one for the little niceties...kinda the old EVH philosphy. They are tools, not objets d'art.

...you'll also never hear me refer to one as "she".

My friend gave me a loan of one of these bad boys for some home demos I'm doing - been sleeping with it ever since.

V-amp set at a Black Twin setting with a bit of reverb - Em Chord + Bigsby - lovely.

Almost wasted in the Goth shit I'm doing.

"It" suffices for both.

I'm looking at a new hum for my Dokken geetar...the Duncan Distortion I have in there is sweet, but kinda flubs out the low end distortion-wise. (It's over 16k ohms...to give yins an idea.)

Looking for something more mid-output with a mid EQ peak...Di Marzio "Fred", EVO and Mo' Joe's look interesting...all are essentially mid boosted...

I'm not looking for a full-range, ringy PAF, so nobody suggest shit like Rio Grande's! Going for butt-rock L.A. metal tone here...

This is even more painfully obvious, but you aren't gonna replace a Duncan Distortion with anything better for LESS than $50+ used. Have you thought of tweaking your EQ for this guitar and gig? And don't you have an RG100ES? If you do I presume you're using it for this show even though Lynch didn't really use it? He DID endorse it, after all, and it DOES do the Dokken thing pretty well!

I had the DD-20 next to the Loop Station but I'm thinking of going with the tc.
