What is G.A.S?

I went back through my purchases in my last 18 months.
I’ve spent $13,850.00 on music gear.
Maybe it’s time to slow my roll.
I’ll have to try the beer bottle and get back with you.

Yes, yes, yes.

What about my issue with ordering a guitar from Siberia through reverb?

Anyone do anything like that?

No, but my ex wife was stupid enough to send a minister in Africa $400 for a dog he was gonna ship to her.

Cheap guitar alert: These IYV guitars are getting pretty consistently good reviews, made in South Korea, only $189. Almost worth it to just have a guitar to abuse or experiment with pickups or whatever. Only downside: it only comes in green. Meh, still looks great.

I see this on Amazon all the time. I think it's right toward the top if you type in "Electric guitar." The color stops me. It'd be a good beater guitar, but green? Nah.

Of all colors, green is weirdly random. If they're knocking off Les Pauls just about any other color would be less problematic. No telling how many sales they're losing just because of that.

No...I have not.
The weird thing about this guitar is, I usually use 9-42 on all my guitars etc my Les Paul, but it didn’t play that great with those, so I put 8-38 on it (never used that light before), did a setup, intonation and truss rod adjustment and the thing screams.
I also love the baked maple necks.

Love those necks as well. I usually play with 10s on my blues rock/jammy guitars, but use 11s on the ones I play heavier on. I played a friends strat with some 9s on it, and was blown away by the tone! Everything I played was like butter. I guess the technique adaptation makes you play different on different gauges. I could never play light gauge on a regular basis. I would be breaking strings left and right. But, it's a nice change once in a while.

I have a red EVH Standard with a reg maple neck that I don’t like and haven’t played in several yrs.
Unfortunately, I’m giving it a guy next week as a surprise or I would’ve given it to you, if you paid shipping.
Bummer.

I've played 10-46's on every guitar I've ever owned. I've tried other gauges, but didn't notice anything but a harder time bending. I didn't feel any tone difference.

I used 9-46 for a while.
I never thought I would’ve liked 8-38, but the action is nice and low and haven’t heard any real change in the sound.
Have to lighten up on bends a little, but I’m definitely digging them.

I considered 9's years ago, because Brian May plays super light strings, but then I remembered I'm not Brian May and I'll still suck no what string thickness I use, so I kept the 10's.

You’re pretty tall, so I’m assuming you have long fingers.
I have little sausage fingers and any advantage I can get, I’ll take.
The necks on these things are insanely small with a very slight c shape.

Yeah, I have Jack Skellington fingers.

I don't know if you've ever heard of Greg Koch, but YouTube him, if you're interested. He's like 6'5,' yeah, but even at that height, his hands are monstrous. He's an insanely good guitar player.

Any of y'all clear coated over a signed pickguard before?

I was just gifted a CJ Ramone signed bass and would like to show my sludgeworthy support for scabs the world over by actually playing it.

Gabba Gabba, in advance.

Did he sign the pickguard? Maybe get a thin, clear pickguard made, and screw it down over the original!

If it's just the pickguard I would look into the same type material used for cell phone screen shields. You could probably get a big sheet of it and cut it to fit.

Agreed with the two above. I wouldn't spray/paint anything over the signature. You risk ruining it. Anyway, as it's just CJ Ramone, have you thought about just throwing the pickguard away?

Ordered this twice today, and then cancelled the order twice.

I want it, I have the $ to buy it, I just don’t really need it.

Has exitflagger made me question my gear addiction?

I’m not getting any younger. Nowadays, if I want it, I buy it. I’m at the age now where “need” never enters the equation.
I’ve got a Boss GT1 and Kemper.
Not sure I can justify the need for it, with both of those, and both sound great.

This is a fairly good call. Do that, and you will have yourself a damn fine fender P-bass!
