Having had a Aria Pro Urchin, and a SG stolen from our band's van back in the early 80's, I'm glad you got your guitar back. Very cool.

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
Good call!
The Robelli brand had a black Byrdland sized guitar with two hums and no F-holes...I almost bought one about 500 times and just never did.
That'd be something to look for tho.
Went to a pedal show yesterday. Picked up a $99 Klon clone that sounds promising. They had a real Klon there for A/B testing...not that I care, because I'll be using it for Maiden, not Robben Ford
http://www.jrrshop.com/tone-bakery-creme-brulee
I'm thinking I'm also gonna order an Earthquaker Devices HoofReaper, as I loved it in lengthy test-driving.

I have a discount code for EarthQuaker good until the 15th, if anyone needs it.

Do they have a full gain clip of the Klon Klone?

No idea.ElToro wrote:Do they have a full gain clip of the Klon Klone?
I like the one I got...it's not super gainy.
It works very cool though. When you have the gain on 0, it doesn't make the sound go away like a regular OD pedal, it removes the clipping from the circuit path, but leaves the volume and tone in place as a clean boost.
My best results so far are setting up the boost to drive the amp into happiness, then rolling up the gain to introduce a bit of distortion. Very nice.
I also order an EarthQuaker devices Hoof Reaper today...I tried it out at the pedal expo and fell in love. The code they gave me gets $60 off the regular price, so I had to go for it.
It is a '70's germanium Muff (more or less) coupled with a Tone Bender (more or less) and an octavia (more or less), with each available independently or in series...including the octave, which even runs when clean.
Pure, thick-assed mayhem

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
I got that hoof reaper, a Fender FSR tele and a white Gibson V.
Sunk a ToneRider Hot Classic in the tele, which was like night and day...anybody wanting a good tele pup, try that. It's more of an Esquire type, more thickety-ass, less icepick, but still with a lotta plonk and that indefinable vintage tele sound.
Still sorting out the V pickups. Had a SD P-90 phat cat when I got it, which I changed for a SD JB, which sucked in there, and now have a BC Rich wich isn't bad, but is a bit woofly and missing the singing mids I want.
I might go DiMarzio super distortion, as that seems to be the classic NWOBHM style v setup...

I'm just in a lot of bands...the tele is for a Tom Petty cover band, the V is for a seventies metal/nwobhm one, for which I also bought a white floyd strat because we only use white guitars in that.
I'm in 7. Each one needs specific tools

Got me one of these dudes:
I'm not a real big tech head so at this point I'm really just using it as a regular stomp box board but this thing has a lot of really mind-blowing capabilities. And it sounds fucking awesome. I'll be dicking around with it for quite a while.

Boss makes some of the better multiple effects pedals.
The GT stuff is outstanding. Looks like the BE may be easier to tweak than the GTs.
With the GT there are no turning knobs so in order to tweak the mod , cab etc, etc, you have to scroll thru the settings.
I've been doing it for a while, but new users tend to get aggravated.
Picked up an EVH the other day. Really surprised me how much I love the non floating trem.

I've got a GT 8.
Thing is my bitch. Two of the bands I play in, I use that straight into a tube poweramp...all the sounds come from the gt8.
Easiest setup ever.

I just bought a Digitech GNX3 multi-effect pedal, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I know it's an older pedal, but after a LOT of tweaking, I've got some sounds I really like. Nice little recorder/looper built in. It was worth every penny of $50..

Picked up an EVH red stripes the other day.
Just sold a couple of Randall's I got from Scott Ian that he used on the Big 4 tour. Way to much gain. Apparently Randall tweaked the shit out of them.
