Washburn makes a great guitar for the dough. I've always loved them... they play so well.

The best noise suppressor on the market is the decimator and the pedal version is about $130.

Picked up a late 80's Laney angled 2x12. A little dirty but otherwise pretty nice.

Just got a Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q. Nice pedal with tweakability, although I find myself using mostly just the one "classic" style setting. Next up, considering buying some GFS stuff, probably a chorus and the stomp box tuner pedal. Anyone have experience with the GFS pedals?

I have the tuner.. works fine, but that TC tuner seems a bit better.

I love 535q's and wish I still had one. I had a 535QC and it was damn cool...

I had a 535Q, and I had to get rid of it.

I found myself constantly fucking with it and never happy...whereas if there is just the one setting, it seems like I am always good with it :?

I ended up splitting the difference with a 95Q, which I like a lot...it's the one that goes on automatically when you step on it.

I always hated the switch on wahs.

Sweet! I have an early Ultra V, round horns, small V headstock, black, MOP block inlays, black Kahler Pro trem and a Duncan Distortion in the bridge. I love it, even though it is only my 3rd-best playing Carvin after the CM130 and the DC150. My 1984 V220 was sweet too, miss that one. None of them are as beautiful as yours though!

Thanks lerx, that beast makes my other guitars sound like pieces of firewood with strings... time for some pup upgrades or just sell em and replace them with more Carvins...
Jim, nice find...

haven't bought anything, but I am checking into luthier classes here in town. It's a 2 year program, but spends a TON of time on repairs etc. I just want to learn how to do setups and electronic work, so we'll see if I can get out of those classes. We'll see what happens.

Toro,

Rex...damn! Badass dude right there.

I've seen the Luthier videos on Stew Mac...I think I need a hands on type of learning experience. Plus, I ask a lot of questions...so it's good to have someone there to make sure I don't set the house on fire. The only thing I'm worried about is if I get the whole set up/Pick up replacement thing down, I will be constantly buying new pickups and turn my living room into a shop. The wife will LOVE that.
