I like it! Sounds pretty close to classic Dokken.

Im impressed. Great song and sounds close to 80s Dokken. Don sounds pretty good too. I also dig the video. The band looks good.

Didn't know that the original lineup also released a video and new song. Sweet. 8)

Yep, surprised me, enjoyed that.
Thought it was odd though that Don did not look at George while singing to him.

I guess a lot of believed they would come up with a stinker, but this was really good! I'm surprised!

Yes it sounds like it could've been on Dysfunctional and it could've been on Broken Bones. Hooks aren't very strong on the chorus but overall I like it a lot and the video is killer. I can see why the label was excited to release this.

Better than expected, sounds like it’s from the 80’s ... mission accomplished.

I'll stick with recorded Dokken over live Dokken where studio magicians can make me think Don can still sing.

The chorus is okay, but the bulk of the song really isn't very good. I'm surprised at all the praise here. What is everyone else hearing in this that I'm not, lol?

I like the beginning before the first verse and the breakdown and solo. The rest is okay-ish.

Agreed. It's ok. Maybe everyone expected 100% shit? So "average" = "great?"

Not up to par with T&N, Underlock and Key, Up from the Ashes (I count this as a Dokken release), or Back...but one of the better songs released since. Good enough to be on Dysfunctional...and that's a strong album.

I can't say anything bad, that was surprisingly good. Aging hair bands take notes. This is how it's done. See also "Ratt - Infestation"

First off, I love Dokken. They are probably one of my favorite all-time bands along with Judas Priest. That being said, this was alright, but far from great. I too am surprised about how many people here like it so much. I'm glad they do because I wish the best for the band. There just isn't really much to the song though. It's not catchy nor memorable. They made Don sound acceptable which I didn't think was possible and the solo was alright. Maybe I need to hear it a couple more times.

One thing I need to remind myself of though is that I cannot set my hopes too high because I really do believe that all the really good catchy tunes in the genre have already been written. It sucks to feel that way, but I honestly do believe it to be the case. There are only so many combinations of notes, beats, chord changes, and melodies that they have to run out sometime. Whenever a band does come out with something that is new and really kicks ass I am really surprised because the well is pretty damn dry.

All that being said, great to see these guys together. Even if only for a song or show or two.

Paul Gilbert, Richie Kotzen, and Donnie Vie are all still writing catchy tunes in that genre. I might argue that Lynch Mob is occasionally doing that too. Night Ranger for sure.

Frontiers have the option on the next "Don" Dokken album then they have an offer for a "Classic" lineup Studio album, in two years. Will Don accept the offer??

It's a good track. It sounds like a Dokken song should be expected to sound in 2018 after many years of each member off doing a million different things. To come back together and create a song like this shows they still have good ability. I guess I might've liked a little bigger/louder chorus, especially since Jeff & Mick always did great backup harmonies, but that's a minor gripe.

Overall thumbs up!

If I had a fucking dime for every time Don has used the word "tears" or "wasted years" in his lyrics, I'd be a millionaire.

Generic lyrics, average solo at best; sounds like all the shit he's been doing for the past twenty years.

I disagree with whomever said this would fit in on Dysfunctional. Dysfunctional is one of few Dokken discs where every song isn't about "love lost" and "drowning in endless tears" and so forth. That record has really good lyrics, musically it's very diverse, and it didn't sound like 80s Dokken at all-- which is what I like about it.

This new song is just generic Dokken. Levin probably could've played a better solo, IMO. That said, I'd rather see this band live than who's he's playing with now.
