It's time for this son of a bitch to bow out gracefully.

I think it will be Aerosmith. They have a gap that weekend

Could be Pantera since they changed their Aftershock date so that Zakk could play with Ozzy....so Pantera would have a day off that day.
Also heard a crazy rumor about it being a reunited Creed.

Creed as a replacement for Ozzy (even a Memorex Ozzy) would go over SO well.

Gut says Def Lep or Motley, but Aero would be good

I don't think it'll be Kiss since they have their own Palm Desert show coming up. Don't think it'll be Pantera for the same reason (playing LA w/ Metallica, headlining San Diego -- and it doesn't matter that Metallica is playing L.A. in addition to Power Trip. It's Metallica)

Creed would be terrible. Hoping it's not Grohl or Rage. Tool is already a fish out of water here, needs to be someone more "classic"

Ozzy's statement = "They are personal friends of mine and I can promise that you will not be disappointed."

I know it wouldn't go over well lol just saying, I heard it as a rumor before Ozzy even cancelled.

Ozzy is officially over as a live performer. Can't even do one-off festival shows. One or two playback songs maybe.

Maybe Sharon can make an Ozzytar to tour with Tommy Aldridge, Rudy Sarzo and Jake E Lee. Bald Ozzy, fat blond Ozzy, long haired NMT Ozzy on the time appropriate songs.

Sharon would never let him. She has absolutely zero grace herself, so why should she?

You could do Glen Hughes from the Seventh Star album era, but Eric Singer's busy.

"They are personal friends of mine and I can promise that you will not be disappointed."

The only replacement that wouldn't disappoint me is Pantera or Priest. Who else is he friends with...hmm, Ugly Kid Joe, Sepultura (with Cavaleras)... Or resurrect Slayer for a one-off gig, holy shite, that would be great.

Pantera makes the most sense, since Zakk was originally going to be there anyway. However, if there was a gig for Slayer to come back as a one off, this would be it.

I think it's going to be Priest, though.

I think it's Aerosmith. Kiss is in Australia on that date so it's not them. All the bands playing are major headliners and while Pantera is cool and all, they were never at the level of any of the bands playing, or even Ozzy's level. It has to be a huge band to make up for it. And just because Ozzy says it's "personal friends" doesn't mean anything. He didn't even write or say that. They just want him to endorse whoever is replacing him.

I know they aren't big enough of a band these days but I'd like to see Deep Purple on that bill.

Saw one guy float Motley on twitter. I think he's full of shit, but Motley and Ozzy do go back a ways and fit the "personal friends of mine" line.

Not sure how close Aerosmith and Ozzy are. Have they ever even played on the same bill? Also not sure Power Trip would want to wager on another band that might end cancelling, seeing as how Aerosmith couldn't even get through a residency.

the gig isn't selling well. so that means do they pay aerosmith $1 million and hope the sell more tix or do they pay $500,000 and get crue?

i don't think the ac/dc crowd would like pantera.

I agree! My daughter and I were discussing this this morning.
We wondered who was big and still relevant enough to fill that spot. Our first thought was The Rolling Stones, but probably not. That was our love of The Stones and wishful thinking. But we thought Kiss and Aerosmith.

I don’t think Judas Priest is big enough for this festival.
