To a much, much lesser degree, I think that's why Ryan Adams got the heave ho. All of his songs were about getting fucked over by women. Turns out he treated women like shit so nobody could hear those songs the same again. Had nothing to do with being "cancelled," everything to do with his brand being destroyed.

In both cases, the haters REALLY hate them and were looking for any reason to take them down, and found those reasons.
