Yeah that's fucked. Looks like the other guitarist started his harmony on the wrong note and couldn't find it. People were shitting on Ace for fucking this up but if you watch the hands it's clearly the other guy.

Nope. As the pro musician who posted this said, Ace is a half step up for his whole part of it. It sounds like total ballsack when the other guitarist comes in because he's in the correct key. Ace gets to the A power chord afterwards and he's fine, disproving it's an out of tune guitar.Shredderpete wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 1:53 pm Yeah that's fucked. Welcome to three weeks ago. He’s playing it on the third fret not the second fret and didn’t notice. The bass player is yelling out the key to him halfway.

Aren’t you the guy that shreds with Satch and Vai, and you can’t tell that Ace is off?Shredderpete wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 1:53 pm Yeah that's fucked. Incidentally, I zoomed with Vai this morning, interview about his upcoming Australian tour.

Race is brain dead.
Unprofessional. Lazy. Doesn't rehearse. Going through the motions. Doesn't want to be there.
He's pissed that Paul and Gene don't want him back and don't need him.

He’s giving up … mine as well … what’s left? Clubs, sickness and death.
The other guitarist should’ve been quicker to adjust to Ace’s screw up.

Even by recent Ace standards, that was inexcusably terrible.

I'm going to pretend it was a nod to dissonant King Crimson so my brain doesn't explode.

If the other guitarist adjusted they would both be off from the bass. You expect the band to move the whole song by a half-tone in the middle of it and then, what, move back? That would sound demented.Jason Jennifer Leigh wrote: ↑Sun Aug 06, 2023 4:30 am He’s giving up … mine as well … what’s left? Clubs, sickness and death.

If the bass and guitarist both noticed ace was playing a half step up and wasn’t gonna correct, the thing to do would be to follow him here. Since the part resolves at the end with a big A power chord, they woulda been ok, Ace wouldn’t have changed that.EvilRockPosh wrote: ↑Sun Aug 06, 2023 4:38 pmIf the other guitarist adjusted they would both be off from the bass. I do get that the guys were prolly “we’ll play it right, hopefully he will transpose down”, can’t fault them for that.

Ouch. Ace has set the bar pretty low these days, and his band couldn't even reach that here.
