I just had Rob Wylde from Midnite City come on my podcast. We talked their new album “In At The Deep End” and we discuss our favorite metal shirts from back in the day. Since people want to see the list (and don’t want to listen to the pod) I’ll give you 5 of my 10....
6)L.A. Guns - debut album cover
7)KISS - Smashes/Live ‘89 Shirt
8)W.A.S.P. - White Last Command Album Cover
9)Alice Cooper - Thrashes the World (Alice w/ 1/2 skull face)
10)Queensryche- Empire Tour (Puss Head design)
Would love to hear (or see) your favs!!!!!

There you go! You’re getting it now. Give part of the list and see if anybody clicks. (You should have thrown in New Kids On The Block or something to fuck with some people.)
I’m guessing Mattley has a Top 100 list, at least.

The 1988 Monsters of Rock t-shirt from MoR at Donington was classic. All those band logos on one shirt, and the date and place on the back.
Kiss Alive/Worldwide 96 too, Love Gun band pic on the front and I Was There + date and place on the back. For some reason I had a Zaragoza shirt too even if I wasn't there - ha! Was it cancelled or the Spaniards didn't buy many shirts so they had a surplus?
Loved the Skid Row "Big Guns" shirt at the time but I guess you have to be a teenage metalhead to appreciate a pic of a cartoon groupie Pandora Peroxide style pointing two smoking guns at you
Oh and I had the Alice Cooper Trash t-shirt and loved it. The tour name "Trashes the World Tour" on the back was a bit stupid. Not as stupid as Whitesnake's "Liquor & Poker Tour" around the same time though.

Re: Best Concert Shirts of the 80’s and 90’s
It was a bar band I did sound for in the early 80s, not a concert band.
We had two dozen shirts made that weren't for sale; they were made to be given away from the stage.
"Who wants one of our tee shirts with the name of your choice printed on the back?"
The front had the band's logo. On the back, it said, "THE NAME OF YOUR CHOICE."

I reckon all songs are folk songs. I ain't never heard no horses singing any.

I am wearing a Mötley tee from 1983 to bed tonight!
This shirt is 4 years older than me!

Any of the Metallica shirts during Justice. They were everywhere.
Re: Best Concert Shirts of the 80’s and 90’s
The Faster Pussycat t-shirt from the Wake me Tour.
Front said Faster Pussycat in fluorescent green and the back said Wake the Fuck Up Dickhead...and Dickhead glowed in the dark.
The Dr.Feelgood shirt was nice too...the one that said on the back: The Motherfucking, Ass Kicking Loudest tour on Earth.
I'm sure there are more...at one point by my last year of high school I had over 30 concert shirts...I know this because I had one for each day of the month!!

That was a great one from the Kiss reunion. There were quite a few cool ones from that tour. I had a pretty sweet one that had a modern pic of them with the fire behind themLove_Industry wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 7:31 am The 1988 Monsters of Rock t-shirt from MoR at Donington was classic. Nothing like a thread about a topic that requires photos and there's no photos to be seen. Wonderful.
