I remember really enjoying Scorpions' "Humanity Hour 1" too, but I haven't listened to it in years

I think both happen to be the respective band's best selling albums, or were at one point - not sure how they do in catalog sales. Made in Japan or Machine Head probably outsell PS. Deep Purple are as bad as Kiss when it comes to recertification.

I picked Firepower, but that list was solid. I don't like Extreme and that Tesla album blows, but the rest was good, way better than expected. Good that VH and Sabbath didn't end their careers with the atrocious VH3 and Forbidden.

Stryper No More Hell To Pay is close, i think its one of their best albums, but i gotta go with A Different Kind Of Truth. I dont know how anyone can be a fan of classic VH and not like that album unless theres other reasons involved than just not liking the music.

In its defense, for all the griping about it being mostly old material, that’s just how songwriting works sometimes. You’ve got stuff tinkering around for years or decades and you either try to force a fart with it or you keep it in the back of your mind until something works.

Besides, would Van Halen fans prefer stuff Eddie wrote when he was young, hungry, angry, and loaded, or when he was rich, at peace with the world, and sober?

It’s a great album.

They were both great reunions, but Purples was more impressive because they hadn't played together for 10 years... unfortunately, both fell apart after lackluster follow-ups.
