Was Joey in the audience holding up a sign that said “let me play”?

Yeah but standard these days, will come to 105 mins or so

Probably haven't gone over the 2 hour mark since JPP tour

Haven't given a sh*t for over twenty years. I'd rather see Warrant with Jamie St James. That's not being Sludgy. I really rather would.

Some of the comments here are hilarious…

Did you expect more than 18 songs/105 minutes? They are old as fuck. That’s why you get a world class opener playing for an hour.

Did you expect a set of 70’s rarities while they ignored the 90’s/2000’s? I don’t love the 90’s material, but it’s necessary. This was always going to be a career spanning hits retrospective. I’m thrilled with the 70’s material we got!

Even PISS are doing a two hour show.

Yeah, but Tyler sings five times as much in an hour and a half than Stanley does in two.

Anyway, "Cryin'" into "Janie" just three songs in? Snore.

I’ll never understand Hangman Jury being in the set constantly, but if they’ve got ~100 minutes up there at their advanced age then this setlist isn’t too bad imo.

Yes it was a huge crossover hit and maybe their highest charting single?, but 99.9% of the actual Aerosmith ticket buyers could care less if they play "Don't Want To Miss A Thing".

Yeah I'll grant them "Hangman" cause it's a deep track and the band has always liked it (as have I). Playing that Armageddon lullaby tho is unforgivable.

Why do they put a momentum killer like stop messing around on there? An aerosmith audience dont want to hear Joe Perry who can't sing anyway try to sing the blues.

I don't hate this nearly as much as I thought I would. In fact, there's enough "good" that I might be convinced to buy a midrange to upper deck ($100ish) ticket for this.
Sure, I'd like more from the first 5 and a token track or two from the Night in the Ruts and Rock in a Hard Place but I really expected a setlist that was about half 1987-1998.
It's like KISS; sure I'd like more songs like "Parasite" or "Christine Sixteen" but they're really playing everything you could ask for given the situation.

This was the setlist when I saw them last year in Vegas. I thought it was pretty good at the time, but it's actually one song shorter.

Back in the Saddle
Same Old Song and Dance
Rag Doll
Cryin'
Love in an Elevator
Remember (Walking in the Sand)
Stop Messin' Around
Hangman Jury
Seasons of Wither
Toys in the Attic
Livin' on the Edge
The Other Side
I Don't Want to Miss a Thing
Sweet Emotion
Dude (Looks Like a Lady)

Encore:
Dream On
Walk This Way

Maybe the're doing the 2 shows/no repeat like Metallica did?

Where's Dude Looks Like a Lady? What it Takes? Same Old Song and Dance? Mama Kin? Crazy? The Other Side? Eat the RIch? I know I leaning a lot towards their later hits, but wow...it's amazing how many songs are left out.

Good for them for having a lifetime of hits. Go it you wanna go. I'm sure it'll be a good time.

As for the Black Crowes opening... I like that first record but I had comp tickets to see them at a casino show and literally walked out after a few songs it was so boring. Granted, if I paid for the tickets I'm sure I would've stayed.

I think it's not a bad setlist and I can appreciate them playing deep cuts. There's a bunch of songs they didn't play, and I get it that they can't play it all or even try to play all the ballads, but nobody wants to hear Joe Perry sing, and I feel like they could have worked in about two of these songs as opposed to Movin' Out or Stop Messin. Maybe they'll mix it up as the tour goes on.

Mama Kin
Same Old Song And Dance
Last Child
Draw The Line
Dude Looks Like A Lady
Angel
What It Takes
The Other Side
Eat The Rich
Crazy
Amazing
Deuces Are Wild
Falling In Love (Is Hard On The Knees)
Pink
Jaded

Aerosmith have been a soccer mom band for way longer than they were a one-ballad-an-album-sleazy-rock-band. Get a Grip came out thirty years ago. An 18 year old kid at that time is almost 50. I guarantee you that an huge percentage of an Aerosmith crowd in 2013 wants to hear "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing."

There's an entire generation that know Aerosmith as the Alicia Silverstone video and Armageddon song band. The only 70's song they know is "Walk This Way" and that is because of Run DMC. Only in Sludge land is this denied.

If you were a teen when Permanent Vacation came out, you're pushing 60 now. Anyone that was actually around to see and hear Aerosmith's initial 5 album run is in their 70s and 80s. I'd argue they make up a minority of the crowd on a tour like this. This will mostly be the soccer moms and frat dads that are seeing DL/MC in MLB stadiums.

Yep. No question. There are not many hardcore Rocks fans still dying to see Aerosmith in 2023. It being their last hurrah tour doesn't change that. It just means that more 50 year old soccer moms with their husband's money who loved "that song from that movie" will put on their Bedazzled jeans, hop into the Escalade, stop at TGI Fridays for some pre-show margs, and go scream along to "Cryin'" and "IDWMAT" while being totally surprised that Aerosmith even has songs like "Rats."

People are delusional. These dudes are in their mid 70’s and not in the best of health. This isn’t the same band from 20 years ago….but they sound good for what it is. I’m still not going.

It was similiar for Vegas except swap Dude for Janie and some diff 70's songs.

At one of the Vegas shows there was some fat dude with his arms folded complaining during Hangman Jury "I wish they would play something I know" even though that album sold 5 million the first year and who knows how many since. And every time they would have a megahit in the 80's/90's, Greatest Hits would boost in sales anyway.

Otherwise it was a pretty good mix and people generally know they are a really old band with distinct eras regardless of what era they prefer. Everybody else seemed to enjoy it.

Better than some shows I have got boots of where it's all MTV era singles and a smattering of 70's songs.

This is waaaayyyy more balanced than the last time I saw them. I'd go to this. I'm not going to go out of my way to see it, but I'll enjoy it if happens. These guys have a deep catalog. Hard to keep everyone happy. I like the attempt. A couple of clunkers, like the cover, but whatevz. I'll need to pee and grab a t-shirt.

But, the setlist also pretends to ignore that they made any more music after 1998 while skipping Nine Lives entirely. So pretending that the GAG era is somehow the sweet spot for their current fan base is silly... like ijw said, they're an old band for old people, and they put together a set that covered their prime years as equitably as possible.

Not really, 9 Lives was a sales let down after the trilogy before it. Then, the soundtrack song came. That tune is here. So, that era is represented well. Even the original era is missing tune from Draw the Line.
