Poll: Sabbath vs Scabbath
Black Sabbath = Ozzy, Tony, Geezer and Bill. Don't argue; you're wrong. Six albums that defined heavy metal, then two that didn't, plus the reunion stuff.
But a band claiming the same name also existed for years, comprising Tony and an ever-changing cast (the drummer from ELO, anyone?). I accept Ronnie was a talented singer but his voice annoys me and I mostly dislike Dungeons + Dragons metal. I've never voluntarily listened to anything by Scabbath except the live show with Rob Halford. I've heard a few non-Ozzy songs on the radio over the years, BITD and now, but none inspired me to listen further. But I know lots of you did. Which era is your best?
Obviously the poll excludes Halford, David Donato, Jeff Fenholt and Tom Jones.

The poll should exclude everything after Dio.
Even though some weirdo already voted for Gillan.

I'm probably the only person that is going with Deep Sabbath. I wish they would of done a second album with Ian Gillan. One of the first concerts I went to was Black Sabbath with Quiet Riot, November 1983. The original lineup started to suck after Vol. 4. Every album after that until Born Again only had 3 or 4 good songs. The Born Again album from start to finish is fucking great. I still listen to the Born Again album at least once a week. The rest of the albums through the Dio years maybe once a year.

Re: Poll: Sabbath vs Scabbath
It’s pretty narrow minded to presume that all of Dio’s work with Sabbath is comprised of songs about dragons, or whatever.

Op me too. I loved Born Again. I loved Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die. I thought Seventh Star and Eternal Idol were great too. After that it started getting a little stale for mewildside1969 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 9:25 am I'm probably the only person that is going with Deep Sabbath. All Sabbath is at least very good.
That said, the first 6 stand head & shoulders above all.

The tour was apparently dodgy tho.wildside1969 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 9:25 am I'm probably the only person that is going with Deep Sabbath. I wish they would of done a second album with Ian Gillan.
