Judas Priest Demolition
Better than its reputation. Some of it is quite good.

No, it's not. It's one of the worst albums made by a band I like.BernieTaupson wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 4:21 am Better than its reputation. Some of it is quite good.
The only good thing about it is that it is completely forgettable also.

Knob off, if this was on Painkiller it would be a top three song.

Re: Judas Priest Demolition
Big step down from Jugulator, but the 3 songs from it they played on that tour are quite good.
Shitty album cover.

Re: Judas Priest Demolition
I don't think it's as bad as it's reputation. Certainly better than either X-Factor or Virtual XI.
The only song on it I really despise is Cyberface. Lost and Found and Hell is Home are great slower tracks, and Metal Messiah is a solid closer.

Re: Judas Priest Demolition
Almost every song on this has at least above average hooks and riffs. It's certainly far better than anything they did after getting Rob back. A lot of their older albums were far less consistent. Jugulator has never been a fav of mine aside from Cathedral Spires. Demolition just has a very 2001 production and I'm guessing a lot of 80s purists rejected it for even the slightest deviation from what they were used to. I've known people like that. Owens is outstanding here too. Nowadays we rarely get albums of this sort approaching this level of quality. Rave in Fire-Sons of a Lie is the only one I can think of. Maybe Testament's Dark Roots. Anathema/Optimist, but that's not really the same type of Metal.

I liked Hell is Home.
Didnt hear anything else I liked, but I've forgotten it by now.
Song titles were largely abysmal.

I recall being fond of Subterfuge, but I haven’t listened to the album in a decade at least

Re: Judas Priest Demolition
He lies in wait
For one mistake
Morphing on your screen
Those who dare
Or the unaware
Download him for a scream
Don't access the site
Or beware his megabyte
No virus scan
Detects the man
Or the deadly tasks he plans
Drooling lips
His circuits lit
He crouches for attack
Spider like on the web
Alive and well
But you are dead
Iniquitous in every way
Now he's come out to play
Cyberface
Iron will
Programmed to corrupt and kill
Cyberface
No escape
He is interfaced to Hell
Once he's summoned and installed Cyberface
He'll infest your motherboard Cyberface
Now he's got a grip
He will strip away your flesh
Alive yet dead
A fiend obsessed
He'll crash your system down
Once in place
He'll simulate
Your life it's worthless now
God forsaken
Grotesque mind
An entity
That's come alive
Boot your screen
And suddenly
Approaching fast and mean
Once he's summoned and installed Cyberface
He'll infest your motherboard Cyberface

Re: Judas Priest Demolition
Always liked Subterfuge and Metal Messiah.
Pretty adventrous tracks for Priest.
Thought the rest was pretty bad.
Jugulator was a more solid release. The title track is way under rated. It's up there with the song Painkiller for me

Re: Judas Priest Demolition
I don't hold it against a band when they change singers for whatever reason. I liked Dio era Sabbath just as much as Ozzy era Sabbath. They were both good, just different.
But...Jugulator and Demolition both suck. I struggled to find 3 songs on either album I'd ever want to listen to again.
I will even say that KK's Priest has put out two albums that are head and shoulders above the two albums Priest did with Ripper Owens on vocals. It's not even close as to how much better KK's Priest is than Owens era Judas Priest.

Re: Judas Priest Demolition
I think I'd agree with this, even though I like both Jugulator and Demolition. Both of the KK's Priest albums are solid, and the best things Ripper has done since Iced Earth.
