It's easy for an entire year to go by without listening to an album.

10 years? That sounds overwhelming but I guess it's possible.

Steve Riley passed away recently so I've been on an LA Guns binge. As much as I listened to these records over the years it's safe to say I haven't listened to them in their entirety in several years.

Made it through the first 4 no problem. Suffered through the 3 they did without Phil Lewis singing. Going to reward myself with Man in the Moon and Waking the Dead next. That one was especially damn good!

The Bon Jovi / Sambora thread got me on a bit of Jovi Kick. Listened to The Circle for the first time in probably 5 years, and it has aged pretty well. Has some solid tunes on it.

Always thought Happy Now is one of their better album cuts.

Probably none. Only listen to "old" music when I'm working out. Otherwise it's all new stuff...

*EDITED*

LOVE that first record. Just gave Bittersweet and Twisted a listen and forgot how much I liked it. Every song is good... it's just not as good as the first. It's more laid back and bluesy I think. The piano is not as prominent in the mix either like the first record. That honky tonk piano in the beginning of 7 o'clock is their defining moment. There is nothing like that on this record.

After that, I don't remember liking anything except for the song Mona Lisa Smiled. Gonna give them another listen over the next few days!

Thanks for mentioning them. I gotta give them another shot.

Cue the overweight basement dwelling mullet sporting elitist who says music died in 1989 and you're not a real fan unless you listen to everything on vinyl.

Listening to albums has always been my preference. Streaming is fine for checking out new stuff, but I was never really a fan of mix tapes, or radio, or playlists or whatever it evolves into next. I've got a couple Ipod classics that still work and I click on an album, press play and listen to it all the way through. It works for me and I don't see any reason to do anything different.

To answer the original question, I've pretty much stayed away from most Ozzy solo stuff for the last 20 years and still think most of the later stuff is pretty weak but decided to dive into Diary and Blizzard this weekend.

Someone mentioned ADKOT. Was gonna pick that since it's probably been a decade since my last full listen, and then I remembered Roth had it yanked from streaming somehow and that you can't get the vinyl for under $500 anywhere. I guess I'll have to wait another decade.

Thinking I'll go with Toys In The Attic. I rarely give 70s Aerosmith albums full listens but this one is due.

No biggie. ADKOT is garbage. DLR saved you some time and pain by getting it removed.

This, I thought streaming was a tech dead end that would be gone after realaudio / web radio faded out but it is one of those things that keeps making a comeback. It's almost like 3d movies, the most dead horse that has been beaten in the last 20 years or so.

(Just noticed that a guy I know from school was one of the principal investors in Spotify and made about a billion when he cashed out. Wonder what would have happened if I told him at the time that "don't waste your money, streaming is dead"...)

I couldn't listen to The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album for decades. Then I got the most recent Giles Martin remaster version and it sounds great. It actually ROCKS now, with louder, better sounding drums, and sounds that were previously buried in the mix are now very present.
