i was thinking seeing those priest us tour dates that they can't headlline live nation sheds for years now. not a huge fan i saw the tour w/heaven and hell, motorhead, and testament. Great show in the sheds due to the support being strong but was half full at shed poison filled every year. why did their popularity go down so quickly where maiden headlines arenas in the us?

I'll never understand the hate for Redeemer of Souls. It's not even remotely close to the junk that was Nostradamus, and those songs came off really well live.

I agree it doesn't suck but I don't like it as much as I want to like a new Priest song that sounds more British Steel/HBFL than Ram It Down/Painkiller. It's just not a great song, sort of like the lower half of Firepower.

I went to see Priest last year in Kalamazoo,MI. A friend of mine had an extra ticket. I like 70"s and 80"s JP, but really did not want to go. The band sounded great, much better than I was expecting. I just bought tickets to see them again this coming May.

Interesting the guitar credits are only listed for Tipton and Faulkner. Sneap only gets mixing/engineering/mastering/producing credits. Hmm...

My guess is Faulkner did all the guitars and Tipton just gets credit, but was not able to record anything.

Tipton probably could have still contributed ideas. Just because he can't solo, doesn't mean he can't come up with melodies.

And I'm sure Sneap is getting paid, regardless of credits. They've got to offer him a reason to not quit and go back to full time studio work.

Sneap just played that Power Trip festival with metal royalty, he's gotta be stoked to be playing shows with them. A lot more fun than spinning knobs or playing in that Sabbat band that never broke big!

I'm liking this new stuff ... my first impression was 'Priest meets Dream Theater' which is like a a musical fantasy come true in my world.

They are freakin' JAMMING for some old dudes, this one is sounding like it's gonna stick!!
